How to raise low self-esteem and boost confidence for an improved living

Suffering from low self-esteem is something that most people deal with in silence. Some only have to encounter it for a short time, when they are sad about something or feel a bit low. But, if you continue to dislike yourself, your appearance, or your performance, it can lead to severe mental health issues.

Low self-esteem is often a product of unpleasant life experiences. A psychologist may help you figure out the root cause of your problem. The good news is you can improve your self-esteem at any age by making a few lifestyle changes.

Here we bring some advice for raising self-esteem and boosting confidence for an improved living.

1. Pay attention to your thoughts:
Keep a caution about what you are thinking. For example, avoid thinking negatively, such as if your friends do not hang out with you. Instead, note down the thought and start thinking about positive evidence that contradicts these statements. Finding even one piece of evidence will instantly make you feel better.

2. Identify your triggers:
We all have specific situations that lower our self-esteem. Note down all the things that make you feel insecure. Hanging out with negative people can often bring down your self-confidence because of their behaviour towards you. Avoid the company of such people as they always nudge you in an unpleasant situation.

3. Be kind to yourself:
We often care about what others think of us but rarely consider our thoughts. For example, you have put on an outfit you love, but you have started questioning yourself because someone else has told you that it does not look good on you. Do not do that. The voice in your head saying, “You look good today!” is way more important than other opinions.

4. Build a positive friend circle:
You might find yourself smiling more with specific friends and being a little less self-conscious with them. While not everyone has to make you feel good about yourself all the time, no one should be allowed to make you feel bad either. Enrich your circle of positive friends.

5. Do not fight your thoughts:
Believe it or not, every person in the world thinks that there is someone better than them, even your favourite movie stars, sportsperson, or other celebrities. You cannot control the thoughts that occur naturally to you. Instead of fighting them, allow yourself to feel them and try to lessen their influence on your behaviour and personality.

6. Nobody is perfect:
The ultimate mantra to a good and happy life is remembering that nobody in the world is perfect. Even the people who judge you are self-conscious about themselves, but they try to hide it by reflecting their insecurity on you. Therefore, do not compare yourself to them or pay heed to their opinion. Instead, focus on your goals and aim to be the best version of yourself.

Self-doubting can not only ruin your mental health but also invite unnecessary health problems that can cost you a fortune. These situations will only add to your worries and make you feel emotionally drained out. Hence, doing what makes you genuinely happy is essential for a healthier lifestyle. Having insurance for your aid is also a crucial parameter for improved living. Invest in Magma HDI’s affordable health insurance plans to boost your confidence, add value to your life and make you happy from within.

Make your next bike trip more eco-friendly with these travel accessories

After working hard throughout the week and surviving hectic schedules, a break is exactly what you need. A bike trip is the perfect way to unwind from the bustling noises of the city.

Travelling to places with greenery and mountains sounds like a fantastic way to spend your weekend. However, we must keep the beauty of these places alive. You can support the environment and contribute to sustainable travel by including eco-friendly travel products in your journey.

Check out some of these environment-friendly products that are worth the investment.

1. Reusable water bottles:
Single-use plastic bottles are one of the most significant contributors to environmental degradation. Most of these plastics go to the oceans and harms aquatic life. You can reduce plastic consumption by carrying your reusable bottle instead of buying a new one at every stop.

2. Cloth bags:
Plastic has made its way into our daily lives and refuses to exit. From packing to discarding, we use plastic for everything. For an eco-friendly choice, consider canvas or cloth bags. If you wish to shop on the go, you can bring your cotton bag rather than using plastic ones.

3. Biodegradable toothbrushes:
You may think toothbrushes do not need to be made eco-friendly, but the handle and bristles are made of plastic. Nowadays, many brands have started producing toothbrushes made of natural materials.

4. Refillable coffee mug:
If you can carry a travel bottle, why not a mug for your coffee? There are many varieties and designs of reusable coffee mugs available in the market. So instead of buying coffee and leaving a trail of cups behind, you can simply refill your reusable cup.

5. Solar charger:
You may not always find a charging slot when you are on a bike trip. Solar chargers make sure your devices stay charged on the go, not only for collecting as many memories of your trip as possible but also for staying in touch with your family and friends back home. Solar chargers help you stay functional while simultaneously helping the environment.

6. Eco-friendly food containers:
Everybody gets hungry on the road. When packing your food, make sure to avoid plastic or styrofoam containers. It's also advisable to avoid using plastic ziplock bags. Instead, carry eco-friendly containers for your food.

7. Travel towel:
Always carry your own towels when travelling. You can use a microfiber towel that dries fast. This will reduce the need for new towels at hotels, thus reducing laundry and saving water.

Travelling to new places on your bike is a mesmerizing feeling. However, what’s even more amazing is preserving our environment to sustain the beauty of these destinations. By doing this, you'd be playing a crucial role as an environment safety volunteer by promoting a cleaner nature for future generations.

Also, you can only enjoy a trip to the fullest when you know you are protected under the hood of insurance coverage. Therefore, investing in 2 wheeler insurance is also an invaluable practice to follow to eliminate the stress of losing your bike and help you enjoy your trip more.

Eight things to know about when travelling with a big group

Visiting new places and destinations is one of the most fulfilling life pleasures you can have. It brings a wave of fresh thoughts and experiences that you’d never receive at home. While some individuals prefer to travel alone, there are several advantages to travelling with companions.

But the downside of a large group journey is that it can often be a trip of regrets if you don't plan it correctly. In this post, we’ve talked about eight great tips for you to follow if you seek an excellent group travel experience.

1. Assign a trip leader:
Having a leader makes so many things so much easier. From planning the itinerary to the hotel bookings, having a single voice for the whole group avoids miscommunications and helps the planning process a lot easier.

2. Distribute the work:
One person can be in charge of logistics, while the other can coordinate for itinerary and other activities among group members. Make the final decision unanimously. This way, everything will be structured, and no one person will bear all the load. After all, it’s a group thing, right!

3. Figure out your finances:
We aren’t talking about tracking expenses; we’ll get to that later. Firstly, figure out the group’s budget for stays, transportation, and meals. By doing this, you can explore many options and packages within your budget.

4. Look for group discounts:
You can unlock a plethora of deals if you're travelling in groups. It’s a winning situation for both the service provider and you. Looking for a stay? Call up the hotel or homestay and ask for group discounts. Booking air tickets? Book for the whole group at once and avail cashback and discounts.

5. Split the expenses the correct way:
The inability to share expenditures can transform an incredible vacation into a tax audit in no time. Nowadays, applications are available on smartphones that allow you to manage the splits and contributions smartly.

6. Schedule some YOU Time:
Remember, you're not obliged to do everything with the group just because you're travelling together. Get out and explore what matters to you the most. Encourage others to practice it as well; it will release you from the tension of being together always and make up for an exciting dinner talk when everyone gets back together.

7. Communicate:
Make sure that everyone in the pact is aware of the entire itinerary. Ascertain that everyone is aware of the stay's location and name. Set up a group text or some other method of assuring that the group can communicate with each other at all times.

8. Not everyone can be happy:
With numerous personalities, there will always be some people who aren't entirely agreeing with others, no matter how hard you try. It’s okay. This is part of group travel and going through it is also an experience of its kind. Find a way to tackle the inconvenience unanimously.

Additional Tips:

• Get in touch with a travel agent to make arrangements easier.

• Try including the people in your group who make life better and not challenging.

• Keep your general insurance plans (travel) updated. Encourage other group members to have a general insurance plan which provides financial protection during the trip.

• Opt-out of the group activities that you don't like.

• It’s a vacation, not a group project. Ease out and relax.

You'll be able to appreciate that quality time together even more now that you know how to arrange a trip for the pact. Those unbroken moments of connection are priceless in today's close yet so far digital environment. Go out and Live!

Ways to educate your employees about cyber security

The recent surge in cyber-attacks on businesses indicates that no organization is exempted from the online threat. Even the IT industry, which is supposed to help other sectors be safe, is on the radar. No matter how top-notch your company's security software may be. The end-user of it is the employee, and their negligence could jeopardize the entire organization.

Recent studies have proven that more than 80% of cyber-attacks are caused by human errors and not the inefficiency of the security measure. As a result, the significance of cyber security training has grown exponentially. In this space, we will be discussing a few ways to educate your employees to be smart when it comes to online security.

1. Enlighten employees about the impact of cyber exploitation:
When educating employees, explaining the impact of a cyber-attack on the organization is the best move to start with. This includes shedding light on economic damage and loss of trust among consumers. Most workers are unaware of the risks of exposing the company's digital assets while being involved in activities like viewing work-related documents when connected to a public WiFi, discussing the security systems with people not associated with the organization, etc.

2. Make training mandatory for all the new employees:
Ensure that all critical aspects of cyber security are communicated to new employees to prevent potential cyber-attacks. Including data protection and internet usage guidelines in the employee handbook is advisable.
Demonstrating that your company values cybersecurity just as it does job functions and goals will establish a feeling of responsibility in them, and they will be cautious about the cyber threat from the beginning. Educating them over these matters is crucial.

3. Teaching them about password safety:
Passwords are required for accessing devices, authenticating accounts, and using any job software, platform, or tool. Because there is so much to memorize, many employees may choose general passwords that the hackers can readily decipher. Cybersecurity training should educate employees to grasp the significance of passwords. The company must promote encrypted passwords, and employees should be given proper training on the concepts of encryption and decryption.

4. Take advantage of cyber security training courses:
There are a lot of courses available online about cyber security. They take you through all the important Dos and Don'ts while using the internet. Encourage your employees to enrol in such programs and ask them to present the certificate of completion. You may even conduct in-house workshops and seminars regarding the same.

5. Update the training module and repeat the process:
Provide cyber security training regularly. Continuous training will enable you to include regulatory changes and knowledge about the most recent frauds into the training module. Staying up to date can make the difference between keeping your business safe and compromising it to fraudulent attacks.

Additional Tips:

• Organize seminars from cyber security professionals.

• Reward employees for their achievements and wise decisions regarding cyber security.

• Teach ethics to practice while working off-site.

• Teach the employees how to spot online scams.

• Secure your company against cyber-attacks by having public liability insurance as a protective cover for your data and information.

Employees having proper knowledge about cyber safety is a business's first line of defence because, as we said earlier, your company may have the most robust IT solutions. Still, your staff are the ones that operate and maintain those resources. Therefore, educating them with the proper understanding will improve what is frequently seen as the weak point in any security chain: people.

3. Use hand brakes if necessary:
Hand brakes are efficient during ghat journeys, where multiple halts may occur due to elevated roads and bends in the way. They are the best support you can get from your vehicle to prevent accidents due to the inefficiency of the standard braking. You will have to set a balanced rhythm between the acceleration and braking of your car.

Storing your motorcycle for a short term? Follow these tips to keep it safe

Are you going for a long holiday break? Or the winters are around the corner, and it’s just not your season to ride. Whatever the reason might be, there comes a time in every biker’s life where he has to store his two-wheeler for a while. The duration can be long or short, depending on the reason.

Bike storage might sound like just parking your bike in your garage and putting a cover over it until you use it. You can simply do that, but it can cost you a hefty price if certain factors are not considered. Properly storing your bike is crucial if you’re not operating it for a considerable duration. Here are a few tips that you can imply to keep your two-wheeled companion safe.

1. Give it a good wash:
The dust and dirt sitting on your bike’s body can ruin the metal over time. Make sure you wash it properly using an automobile shampoo and a sponge. After the wash, don't forget to dry it manually as soon as possible. If the water rests on the surface of your bike, that can be a problem too.

2. Lubricate the components:
Because of ever-changing atmospheric conditions, components like chains, cables, springs are susceptible to corrosion, especially when the bike is left motionless for an extended period. You can prevent rusting by lubricating the components with anti-corrosion solutions.

3. Let’s come to the battery:
If you are going to be around, you can start the bike at periodic intervals to retain the charge. If not, then removing the battery is the best option. And if you decide to remove it, keep it in a place where the temperature does not fluctuate.

4. Don't drain the fuel tank:
A full tank is required to keep moisture from accumulating on the tank walls. There are a lot of posts suggesting you need to drain off the tank before storage. But if you drain the tank, you need to layer the tank walls with fogging oil to prevent rust. So it is better to fill the tank up and add a fuel stabilizer to it.

5. Change the oil and replace the filter:
Old oil sitting in storage can damage engine components, making it unsuitable for vehicles that will be stored for more than a month. Change the oil and replace the filter after you've given the bike one last ride and filled up the petrol.

6. Check on your insurance:
Apart from physical preparation, it would be best to double-check your bike insurance. Check the expiration details and ensure it doesn't expire while in storage. Because you still want to be insured in case of theft or fire, it's not a good idea to cancel or let your motorbike insurance expire while it's not in use. Renew your bike insurance online even when you are away with just a few clicks. It’s quicker than topping up your fuel tank.

Additional Tips:

• Park the bike on the center stand.

• Use a good quality cover.

• Empty all the storage compartments.

• Choose a well-ventilated storage place.

• Ensure pest control of the parking area.

• Keep the tyre pressure in check. Ideally, fill the tyres up to 80%.

Whatever your motivation for storing your motorbike might be, how you prepare it for storage will significantly influence its performance in the future. If you're unsure of the duration of storing, it is preferable to over-prepare for storage. Also, consult with your mechanic to guide you in the right direction with more handy tips.

Say goodbye to indigestion with these seven effective home remedies

Some foods might delight your taste buds but can cause discomfort in your stomach. Overeating or eating something that does not agree with your stomach can cause indigestion.

Indigestion is a common health problem. Most people take medications because they do not believe in home remedies. While medications can provide quick relief, home remedies are suitable for your overall health in the long run.

Here we have a list of easy home remedies to calm your upset stomach with zero side effects and the best relief.

1. Peppermint tea:
Peppermint is not just a refreshing flavour for candies, chewing gum and mouth fresheners. It has antispasmodic qualities, making it an excellent ingredient for relieving stomach problems like nausea and indigestion. You could easily add peppermint to your diet by drinking peppermint tea after meals and sucking on peppermint candies when you experience symptoms.

2. Water:
Of course, you already drink water throughout the day. However, sometimes people can forget to drink the adequate amount required by the body. Water is essential for the digestion process and absorption of the nutrients in the food and beverages you consume. Being dehydrated can reduce the effects of digestion by facilitating the incomplete breakdown of complex food particles.

3. Baking soda:
Indigestion occurs when the acid level in your stomach increases. Baking soda has neutralizing properties, which relieve the effects of acid instantly. Baking soda is cheap and can be consumed by mixing with water or honey and lemon.

4. Chamomile tea:
A cup of chamomile tea can fix gut discomfort and indigestion by reducing the number of acids in the gastrointestinal tract. The herb also has anti-inflammatory properties that help ease the pain. Chamomile tea is also a popular choice for calming anxiety.

5. Avoid lying down:
Parents often tell us not to lie down immediately after eating, and now we understand why. Lying down after eating allows the food to travel back upwards, which causes heartburn. Avoid lying down for at least an hour after eating. If you must lie down, elevate your head, neck, and chest with pillows at a 30-degree angle.

6. Apple cider vinegar:
There are uncountable benefits of apple cider vinegar, ranging from skincare to weight loss and relieving indigestion is one of them. Insufficient amounts of acid can also trigger indigestion. The acidic properties of the ingredient increase your body's production of acids. Raw, organic, and unfiltered apple cider vinegar works best for indigestion.

7. Ginger:
Ginger has long been famous for its curative properties. It contains properties that can relieve the contractions in your stomach during indigestion by moving the responsible foods from the stomach much quicker. Ginger can be added to various savoury items as a spice and be used in desserts. For a quick ginger remedy, you could make ginger tea whenever you feel the symptoms.

By following the above remedies, you can manage your indigestion at home without heavy doses of medicines. These home remedies are scientifically proven to improve your condition. However, besides these, you may even count on insurance coverage to secure your health against other diseases. Choosing a good health insurance policy for family will act as a safety net for everyone at home. Purchase one today to enjoy the seamless benefits of the coverage.

Six lifestyle changes that can help you fight anxiety

Fear is a powerful emotion that affects us in different ways. We all have been in a situation where we feel our heart racing, body sweating, and sometimes, even zoned out when anxiety starts kicking in. Unfortunately, many people ignore anxiety because it is not a “physical” illness. However, severe anxiety can impact a person’s ability to perform day-to-day tasks in the long run.

Diminutive yet powerful lifestyle changes can help in effective anxiety management. Many experts and professionals recommend a lifestyle-changing approach to tackle anxiety. In this space, we will focus on some of the best lifestyle changes to give you relief from the constant anxious feeling.

1. The shift towards a healthy diet:
Your brain needs sufficient nutrients to function properly. Lack of a healthy diet or nutrients can affect neurotransmitter production, triggering your anxiety symptoms. Therefore, switch to healthy food, including vegetables, protein, calcium, and vitamins. Furthermore, quit too many sweets and stay away from caffeine. Studies reveal that too much caffeine can trigger anxiety and worsen the symptoms.

2. Get involved in physical activities:
Professionals reveal that even a few minutes of exercise or physical activity a day can relieve anxiety symptoms and elevate your mood by releasing serotonin and endorphins in your brain. You don’t necessarily need to join a gym. You can start by taking a short walk, jogging, yoga, or basic exercises at home. In addition, you can also practice breathing exercises and sports activities, including swimming, dancing, or more.

3. Get sufficient sleep:
The importance of adequate sleep is well-known, and it indirectly impacts your mental health. An adult needs at least eight hours of daily sleep for healthy brain functioning. Contrarily, lack of sleep can affect your mood and trigger your anxiety.

4. Avoid or limit your alcohol intake:
Many people rely on alcohol to feel better. While it may please you in the heat of the moment, the after-effects of alcohol can aggravate your symptoms, making you highly vulnerable. Sometimes, “just a drink” can make you feel on edge the next day and disturb your sleeping cycle. If possible, stay away from alcohol, or limit your intake.

5. Keep an eye on your thoughts and emotions:
Feeling helpless, self-doubting, or having a negative attitude can impact the production of neurotransmitters in your body. Constantly indulging in negative thoughts and emotions can worsen your anxiety and even make you depressed. It also affects your immune system, making it worse for your physical health and inviting unwanted illness.

6. Don’t isolate yourself:
Being social can make you feel less lonely and elevate your mood, leading to a better social life. Keeping in regular touch with your friends, family, and loved ones will help you deal with anxiety as they can offer support and realistic approaches to managing your stress. Anxiety can sometimes make you withdraw socially, so try socializing with your friends, join a group or classes that you enjoy, sign up for a volunteering project, and more.

Anxiety can shake up your world inside out. When it starts making you physically weak, immediately contact your doctor to diagnose any physical conditions you are suffering from. The last two years have already been a stressful ride for all of us, and you don’t want to burden yourself with hefty medical bills. Therefore, having online health insurance can ease your pocket and give a sigh of relief. On your way to ensure your well-being, health insurance protection can help to go the extra mile.

Five healthy habits that can enhance the life of your bike

Motorcycles are a motorhead's most prized belongings. While some people use them for transportation, others use them for enjoyment and sports. Owning a motorbike requires taking care of it and ensuring that it is not damaged. Even when navigating challenging terrain, a well-maintained bike will not let you down. However, ignoring your bike may result in unnecessary damages.

Keeping your motorbike in perfect condition is as significant as owning it. To help you with that, we've discussed five essential points to keep your motorbike in good working order.

1. Changing your bike’s engine oil at regular intervals:
Multiple mechanical pieces constantly move and rub against each other in your motorcycle's engine every day. To ensure their best functioning and to reduce friction, you must lubricate them with motor oil. Unfortunately, dust and particles thicken the oil with time, reducing its lubricating power. Changing your motorcycle's oil every 2500-3000 kilometres helps improve performance and safeguard the engine from harm caused by outside elements mixed in with the old oil.

2. Checking the drive chain:
The drive chain is an essential component of your motorbike, and neglecting it is a call to a shorter service span. Inspect your drive chain regularly and ensure that the chain tension is correct. Lubricate it, particularly while it's heated. This allows the oil to flow and get into all portions of the chain, making it smooth for functions.

3. Taking care of your tyres:
You simply can't get anywhere without the tyres of your bike. The big rips or cracks on the tyres can cause them to lose friction. Check if the tread depth is within the approved limit. Don't hesitate to change them if you believe they are no longer safe.
Also, check the air pressure of the tyres regularly. The proper air pressure reduces or eliminates the possibility of a puncture, enhances bike control, and extends the life of the tyres.

4. Looking after the filters:
When your bike's air filter is congested, the engine has to work harder. Experts recommend cleaning the air filter using compressed air. If you realize that cleaning the air filter is becoming tricky, it is time to replace it. You must also ensure that the gasoline filter is clean and that the fuel lines are free of corrosion and cracks. You must repair them right away if you see any damage.

5. Checking up on your brakes:
Check brake fluid levels at regular intervals to ensure your motorcycle's brakes are properly functioning. Replace the brake fluid according to the manufacturer's instructions. In addition, you should check the thickness of the brake pads and replace them when needed.

Give your time to work on the above tips to keep your bike operating smoothly. This will help your 2 wheeler survive longer while giving you a comfortable and trouble-free riding experience.

Also, don't delay taking your motorcycle for regular servicing. Although this will cost you a few bucks, if you think of a longer run, you'll only benefit from it. Insurance is another way to take care of your bike. You may purchase 2 wheeler insurance online and choose the one with an attractive premium and additional features to safeguard your vehicle against any mishaps.

Five car dashboard warnings that you shouldn't neglect

Your vehicle’s dashboard is usually something you don't give much attention to. That's because, unless something goes wrong, it often appears the same every time you drive. Cars have thousands of moving components comprising dozens of linked systems powered by cutting-edge technology and sensors. With that much computing power on board, if any error occurs, your car will undoubtedly alert you about them.

All the warning indicators in your car are explained in detail in your car's user manual, but reading through it may seem like a chore to many. However, the warning lights are there for a reason, and knowing what they represent can prove to be the difference between a good trip and a breakdown.

Here are five warnings that appear on all vehicle dashboards that you should never ignore.

1. Engine warning indicator:
This indicator means there might be a problem with your engine's primary systems. This problem might be as minor as a faulty sensor or a damaged spark plug or as severe as a damaged fuel pump. This indicator blinks for a few seconds when you start your vehicle. If the indicator remains on or blinks continuously, it indicates a serious problem.

2. Oil pressure indicator:
This indicator means that your engine's oil pressure is low. This might also mean that you're keeping low on engine oil. If this light comes on, turn off your ignition right away. Oil's shortage can cause irreversible engine damage. Check the oil level once you've parked safely on level ground. Fill it up if it's below the required mark. If the oil level is adequate, this might indicate a problem with the oil pump.

3. Brake warning indicator:
This indicator shows that you have left the handbrake on. Still, if it continues to flash even after you release the handbrake, it might indicate a problem associated with the braking system. See a mechanic right away.

4. Battery indicator:
It signifies that the alternator responsible for charging your car battery is malfunctioning and cannot provide an adequate charge. As the cells degrade with time, it might also be an issue with the battery. With the alternator and battery functioning poorly, you should minimize its load by turning off systems like AC and LEDs. Find a mechanic at the earliest because there may come a time when your vehicle won't start at all.

5. Engine temperature indicator:
The indicator typically signifies either your engine is overheating, or your coolant level is low and needs refilling. When this indicator flashes, it’s best that you immediately come to a halt and allow your engine to cool down. Check your coolant level and search for any leaks once the car engine has cooled. If the coolant level is correct, this indicator trigger might be a sign of a more severe issue, such as a damaged water pump.

An overheated engine can distort, causing parts to fail. Avoid driving further and tow your vehicle to the mechanic to avoid further damage to your car’s engine. Your car insurance features like roadside assistance will help you get complete service in case of any mishap in the middle of the road. You can enjoy the benefits of car insurance coverage without spending money from your side.

While these indicators signal that something needs attention, there is typically no reason to be alarmed. Most warning indicators will not leave you stuck, so you can generally safely drive yourself to a service station. Remember that these indicators change across automobile manufacturers and even within the same manufacturer's models. It is best to check with your mechanic if something worrisome flashes on your vehicle dashboard before it gets you in trouble.

Eight signs that indicate an oil change for your car

Lubricating the car is essential to ensure your vehicle's overall fitness and functionality. The regular oil change is relatively an affordable maintenance task your vehicle requires, but the more important question is: How often should you change your engine oil? This entirely depends on the car’s usage. As a driver, you must look for typical signs your vehicle displays when it needs an oil change. You must detect the hints in advance to prevent them from developing severe damages.

This article will explain the top eight signs to heed that indicate an immediate oil change for your car.

• Check the oil change light. The engine sign will turn on if there isn’t enough oil in the engine. So, check the tank to discover what’s going on when the engine sign flashes.

• Engine knocking and noises. The oil acts as a friction barrier between engine components, preventing them from brushing and keeping the engine running silently. The engine noise will get intensified if the oil isn’t working perfectly.

• Change in the colour of the oil. The oil becomes darker and loaded with particles gathered from the engine as it gets utilized. Check your engine oil at least once every month by removing the dipstick from the oil tank. Make sure to wipe it clean before replacing it.

• Smoke from the exhaust. Your car’s exhaust always emits clear gas. But, if you observe smoke coming out from the exhaust, it’s time for a thorough engine inspection. It’s possible that you have a defective engine part or probably an oil leak.

• The odour of oil around the car. When you smell oil inside your vehicle, it’s usually a symptom of an oil leak. The car may overheat if you smell gasoline or vapours. In that case, you should schedule servicing right away after experiencing this.

• Excessive Travel. Consider an oil change quicker than the standard interval if you drive excessively. For example, you should change the oil every 10,000 km or half a year in new cars. For older cars, consider using high-mileage oil and change that every 5,000 Km.

• Fuel efficiency is poor. You would observe a decrease in fuel economy. However, this might indicate other issues with the fuel system, engine, or exhaust system. But an engine may fail to function if it isn’t getting adequately clean oil.

• The engine keeps stopping. If your car has been experiencing repeated engine difficulties, you should examine it. If your car stalls or feels like the engine seizes up at times, you might have low engine oil, poor oil, or an oil leak.

Only knowing how to drive a car isn’t enough; maintaining it is just as necessary. As with every other machine, your car won’t perform the best if not taken care of regularly. If you don’t change your car’s oil regularly, its performance can degrade quickly, resulting in catastrophic damage to your vehicle.

To avoid the consequences, you must watch out for indications that lead you to the warnings of an oil change. Like oil, your car insurance is another thing that needs continual renewal. Car insurances are financial saviours and are required when they are about to expire. Do not forget to check out your car insurance renewal dates and keep them updated to enjoy the uninterrupted benefits of the existing policy.

Why is good sleep important in maintaining a healthy lifestyle

Having a sound sleep after a long day of work is undoubtedly one of the best things for your well-being. Besides recharging your body for the next day’s schedule, a good rest has various health benefits that can help you live longer.

Having a balanced diet and working out for hours will surely improve your health. But sleep is just as important. Many of us have habits of watching late-night TV shows or busy surfing the internet, utterly unaware that sleep is the pillar of good health and a happy life.

Let us explain you the health benefits of getting proper sleep.

1. You are less likely to be overweight:
Research states that people who do not regularly follow a proper sleep routine are more likely to gain weight and develop obesity than people who get a good night’s sleep.

2. You consume less calories:
Poor sleep patterns can affect your food consumption. Evidence proves that getting good sleep can reduce your calorie intake during the day. This is because your sleep routine affects the hormones responsible for your appetite. The more you sleep, the more your hormones will be active to stay energetic throughout the day.

3. You will have a healthy heart:
Your blood pressure and heart rate go down at night, giving your heart a rest from all the work done during the day. Lack of sleep can adversely harm heart functioning and impact your blood pressure. On the other hand, good sleep can keep your heart healthy if you already suffer from heart disease.

4. You will have fewer risks of diabetes:
Getting good sleep is particularly important if you are at risk of developing diabetes or already have the condition. Sleeping less than the medically recommended hours can negatively affect blood sugar levels for both the short and long-term. For example, a study involving several healthy young men showed that sleeping 04 hours a day for 06 days straight caused signs of prediabetes.

5. You will prevent depression:
Scientists have concluded that there is a link between sleep deprivation and depression. Various studies have shown people with depression complain about their sleep quality. People suffering from sleep disorders, such as insomnia and obstructive sleep apnea, report higher rates of depression than others. So, to prevent stress off your mind, take adequate rest and sleep well.

6. You will have a stronger immune system:
Sleep significantly helps your immune system by enhancing immune cells known as T cells. T cells fight off intracellular pathogens, such as HIV, herpes, and cancer cells. Therefore, better sleep quality results in the better ability of your body to fight infections and illnesses.

7. You will experience reduced inflammation:
If you have chronic inflammation or are suddenly experiencing inflammation, the chances are that your sleep habits are to blame. As we have stated above, sleep regulates your immune system. Poor sleep can result in inflammation. Signs and effects of inflammation may not appear at first but may develop into long-term problems.

Sleeping for a short duration leads to bad health that invites heavy medical expenses. Healthcare isn’t getting cheaper, and you should be one step forward with your medical finances by getting a health insurance plan. This way, you can get access to medical facilities without putting yourself in a pool of financial debt. Get yourself covered with health insurance today for a better tomorrow.

Seven tips to make your child learn to ride cycle quickly

Skills like swimming, playing body-accelerating sports, and riding a cycle on their own are must-have skills for any kid entering their teen years. Although kids learn the most skills independently, they still require an instructor or parents to help them master many skills. And that is a brilliant opportunity for a parent to grab and spend quality time teaching them while also having fun.

Teaching a child how to ride cycle is a no-brainer for a parent, but implementing the following tips can smoothen the process, and your child will learn to cycle in no time.

1. Find a grassy location:
Although most people might look for a spot where the surface is smooth, it is crucial to know that smooth flooring can result in faster acceleration even without the child’s efforts, and the cycle might move at high speed. So, always look for a grassy surface; even if your child accidentally falls from the bike, the impact might not be severe.

2. Avoid holding their cycle all the time:
Usually, parents or any instructor teaching a child how to cycle, hold it from the back for support and balance. Although it can give the child a good head start, gradually, it can become a practice, and the child might look for your support now and then. Hence, slowly get rid of giving them balance and start over again if they lose balance.

3. Lower the cycle’s seat:
A cycle sold for kids comes with training wheels and a high lifted seat, but it isn’t going to help in any way for a child to learn how to cycle. Instead, lowering the seat reduces the child’s fear of falling from height and allows their feet to touch the ground directly.

4. Tell your child to look forward:
It is natural for a child to look at their feet when cycling to ensure that they are not missing a leg while pedalling. However, your child should know what is ahead of them to avoid collisions with obstacles. You can talk it out in their language, like telling them that you do not look at the remote but the screen when playing video games. Similarly, they should not look at the feet but the direction they are riding.

5. Teach kangaroo hops for balance:
Although kangaroo hops are done without using a cycle, these can be an efficient way to increase their balance while riding. For example, get your child seated on their bike and tell them to start giving movements with their feet touching the ground, similar to kangaroo hops.

6. Proceed with pedalling:
Once your child successfully learns to balance a cycle, they are almost there. A little push on teaching the technicalities of pedals to move the cycle can instantly get them to master the skill. Then, slowly, tell them to press one pedal after another and practice it for a while.

7. How to apply the brakes:
After pedalling, the only thing that your child needs to learn is stopping the cycle on their own. Have them ride around you for a while and instruct them on using brakes when necessary.

As a parent, you should also be aware of unfortunate events that might result in injuries during the process. But, despite numerous falls and failures, don’t stop your child from pushing themselves.

Let them grind, make them feel the urge to struggle, and motivate them to rise again and try with the same vigour. Never deprive or restrict your child from taking on adventures, trying new activities, and imbibing unique experiences due to the fear of getting injured. Instead, invest in personal accident insurance online and contribute to your child’s growth years with the layer of protection.

Nine reasons why minimalist lifestyle is crucial for mothers

There could be no greater pleasure in the world than becoming a parent, but we have heard tales of how being a mom is no picnic. Motherhood is stressful despite all the help provided to you. After all, there can never be enough assistance for a mom. Especially for new mothers, mom-stuff can be overwhelming and chaotic. And in the case of working women, situations can get more complicated and out of hand in no time. One unique option to reduce the load of stress and anxiety from your schedule is to adopt minimalism.

If you are new to the idea of the minimalist lifestyle, let us take you through the concept briefly.

What exactly is a minimalist lifestyle?
Minimalism is a method of living that focuses on reducing waste and concentrate on what genuinely matters. This involves reflecting on what is most important to you as an individual and focusing on those things only.

Why shifting to a minimalist lifestyle is crucial for moms?

• You will have less stress. When you start reducing clutter, you permit yourself to spend your time and attention on only the most important stuff.

• Raising responsible kids. Kids may be considerably more independent when there isn’t as much for organising toys and belongings.

• Never caught up in tidying the home. Naturally, if your kids have access to fewer things, you will have only minor things to clear out.

• Cleaning requires less time than usual. With fewer items and goods, cleaning doesn’t keep you engaged throughout the day.

• More savings. Once you follow minimalism and minimize your buying habits, you can save substantially. Meaning you can invest in worthy things that make your life more comfortable.

• Me-time. You can finally afford to look after yourself and spend quality time doing things that keep you happy. This is crucial for embracing your well-being.

• Quality time with the kids. Spending time with kids apart from games is equally necessary for every parent. Cherish the moments you have always dreamt of, like first steps, words, and the feelings they express through their actions.

• Having a peaceful environment for the children. Too many activities can distract your children and prevent them from developing their own thoughts.

• Less room for distractions. In this way, there is enough time for you to catch up on hobbies and interests you have been neglecting.

Exploring minimalism with children might be challenging at first. You will require time to get accustomed to it. It starts when you begin to analyse your values and find what you may or may not need in your life. But as you grow into it, the advantages and impacts on your state of being are miraculous. Every mother in the world has things to deal with which one can never figure out, and we believe every mother deserves peace in her daily routine.

As you are inspired right now to take up a new pattern of consciousness, let investing in general insurance be your next step towards it. Including minimalism in making crucial decisions like taking care of your and your family’s health, covering for accidents, protecting your home against natural calamities and managing your finances can improve the quality of your life. General insurance can be your key to a stress-free life!

Let's understand the difference between regular and synthetic motor oil

Routine oil change ensures that your vehicle’s engine is in good shape. Moreover, it guarantees that the machine operates on high-quality motor oil thus improving its performance and the engine’s life. But which oil is suitable for vehicles - regular or synthetic?

Most people believe that oil does not make a significant difference in the performance of your car, but that isn’t the case. The type of oil used for your motor impacts its well-being and durability. So, to secure your car’s engine, be attentive to the requirements regarding its oil.

Let's quickly look at the aspects that differentiate these two types of oils before you pick a side.

What exactly is Regular oil?
Regular oil or conventional oil is a blend of crude oils and additives that meets the minimum requirements for engines and is commonly used in older or low-mileage vehicles. Depending on the manufacturer and pricing, these oils can range from mediocre to excellent grade.

What is Synthetic oil?
Synthetic motor oil combines high-quality additives that provide the finest engine protection. It can help with engine cleanliness, heat prevention, and engine endurance. It is usually suggested for all current and new-age automobiles due to its benefits of providing the highest engine protection.

How to determine which oil is better for your vehicle?
The ultimate way to choose which oil to go for is by reading your vehicle’s user manual, which states the correct oil for your motor. However, other minor factors contribute to decision-making, such as the age of the vehicle, usage, way of driving, and so on.

Advantages of Regular vs. Synthetic oil

1. Regular (Conventional) oil:
• The most obvious advantage of choosing conventional oil is that it won’t burn a hole in your pocket.
• It is readily available and a good choice for drivers and mechanics to get their hands on.
• Well suited for older motors.
• Many motor companies and mechanics advise using traditional oil for older vehicles and low-mileage vehicles.

2. Synthetic oil:
• Synthetic oil is composed of homogeneous molecules that reduce friction in the engine.
• Synthetic oil is also more refined, resulting in fewer deposits in the engine. It is purer and has fewer contaminants.
• It is improbable to break down and hence has higher durability.
• It lasts longer; thus, your motor won’t need frequent trips to the mechanic for an oil change.

The decision between conventional and synthetic motor oil depends on where and how your vehicle is used. Consult the owner’s handbook to ensure you’re using the recommended oil for your car. It will also inform you of the proper distance periods between oil changes.

You should timely replace your motor oil, whether you use regular or synthetic motor oil. Like the oil for your engine, investing in good motor insurance is always the right thing for your vehicle. Using motor insurance with limited features will not provide you complete protection to your car against financial emergencies during any breakdown. Therefore, make sure to browse through the options before purchasing the best one for your vehicle.

Know more about the types of fires and the ways to tackle them

In residential complexes or workplaces, fire situations are severe risks to the safety of people and assets. Understanding fires and putting best preventive policies are crucial for the administrative unit of the buildings. Knowing the different fire classifications will make selecting the best fire solutions much easier.

Water, carbon dioxide, foam, vaporizing liquid, and dry powder are the six primary varieties of fire extinguishers available in India. Remember that not all fires are the same, and not an extinguisher can put off all types of fires; therefore, it’s critical to know about their classes. In this space, we'll take you through the types of fire and the correct type of extinguisher needed to tackle them.

1. Class A (General Fires):
These fires are caused by common flammable materials such as wood, plastics, textiles, paper, and rubbish used in homes, workplaces, enterprises, and industrial settings. Class A fire flames are less damaging and can be put out quite quickly.

How to put out class A fire: The best way is to use a water or foam fire extinguisher. You may simply use tap water to put out this type of fire since it removes the fire's heat source.

2. Class B (Liquid Fires):
Combustible liquids and gases such as gasoline, oil, kerosene, paints, and gases such as propane and methane are the most common sources of class B fire. Typically, these fires occur in industrial settings that deal with petroleum and gas products.

How to put out class B fire: You need to cut off the fire’s oxygen supply to prevent the fire from spreading rapidly. Carbon dioxide, Powder, and Foam based extinguishers work best to combat Class B fires.

3. Class C (Electric Fires):
The primary source for class C flames is electric components. Short circuits are frequently the cause. Industrial buildings with heavy electrical equipment that consumes a lot of electricity are prone to these hazards. They can occur in households and small businesses as well.

How to put out class C fire: Class C flames demand prompt power shutoff and the usage of non-conductive chemical fire extinguishers such as CO2-based. You can even opt for powder-based fire extinguishers.

4. Class D (Metal Fires):
Combustible metals such as aluminium, magnesium, potassium, and titanium are the principal source of Class D flames. The majority of Class D fires occur in laboratories. On the other hand, combustible metals are employed in various industrial manufacturing and production processes, which raises the risks of class D fires in those industrial premises.

How to put out class D fire: Powder-based extinguishers that absorb heat and suppress the flames are the most effective tools to put out the fire under this class.

5. Class K (Cooking Fires):
Class K fires are often confused with the class B fires. This is because they share the same fuel source, which is combustible liquids. However, class K fires are significantly distinct. These fires typically occur in kitchens during food preparation. Cooking ingredients such as cooking oils and vegetable/animal fats trigger and fuel the flames. Class K flames are deadly and may wreak havoc in a short amount of time. They are commonly seen in restaurants and houses but can occur anywhere there is cooking involved.

How to put out class K fire: foam-based, wet chemical extinguishers work best on class K fires.

Now that you completely understand the origins of all these different types of fires and how to put them off. You should determine which fire extinguisher to keep at your disposal at all times. And don't forget only to purchase an ISI-certified extinguisher.

As the famous saying goes, “hope for the best and prepare for the worst,” while you’re out there searching for the ideal extinguisher, protect yourself and your assets with general insurance. Get a general insurance online quote today and add value to your assets.

Essential tips to buying a second-hand two-wheeler

Two-wheelers are the most preferred travelling option for people from home to the workplace as they help your way through traffic smoothly. Moreover, as they have become daily support for middle-class families, many have dreamed of buying a two-wheeler, mainly since the pandemic emerged.

There are plenty of benefits to buying a second-hand two-wheeler. But before you purchase one, there are a few important things you need to keep in mind to ensure that you get the best value for money. For example, you don’t want to buy a vehicle that troubles you with additional money on maintenance or repair.

Below are a few tips to help you get the best deals for your second-hand two-wheeler.

1. Understanding the purpose of your vehicle:
If you need a vehicle for long trips, you will have to search for a high-performance touring bike to make your journey pleasant. Similarly, if you need a two-wheeler for your daily use, you may look for a comfortable motorcycle or scooter with a decent average.

2. Finding where you can purchase two-wheelers:
There are plenty of resellers available, both online and offline. You can directly approach offline showrooms of used two-wheelers or ask your friends for referrals. You can also check for resellers online to find a credible seller. It always helps if you connect with them in person and understand all the details.

3. Check the two-wheeler thoroughly:
Sometimes what you see online can be deceiving. Therefore, it is essential to check the vehicle personally. When you check the two-wheeler in person, you can observe the minor details such as any scratches, dents, and how well it is maintained. No matter where you buy the vehicle from, there are two necessary checks:

• Mechanical check

• Paperwork

In mechanical check, always look out for any rust, scratches, engine check, oil check, oil leakage (if any), dents, mileage, accident damage, brakes, air cleaners, gears, clutch, how many kilometres it has run already, and more.
Similarly, you need to check for a PUC certificate, RC book, service history, tax certificate, NOC, and more for paperwork.

4. Ask for a test drive:
The best way to know if the vehicle works appropriately and suits you the best is to take a test drive. Taking a test drive will help you understand if you are comfortable with the bike’s performance and power. Even if your bike looks perfect, it may not be a comfortable ride for you. Therefore, ensure that you do not miss out on the test drive.

5. Know the market value and negotiate well:
Once you are satisfied with the vehicle’s condition and the documents, you can do thorough research online about the current market value of the two-wheeler you are purchasing. You can talk to the seller and negotiate for the final price you are willing to pay. Once you and the seller come to a final price, you can sign the official paperwork and make the payment!

The tips mentioned above can help you pick the best two-wheeler and ensure that you are getting the best deals! But remember that buying a second-hand two-wheeler is just the first step. You need to ensure its safety by adding a layer of protection in the form of 2 wheeler insurance. You may opt for 2 wheeler insurance online and avail exciting deals and lower premium options offering the best value-to-your-money.

Guide for transferring your bike registration number while relocating to another state

Relocating to another state appears to be a daunting task if you’re experiencing it for the first time. There are multiple things to take care of while planning a relocation. From packing stuff and moving to another state to adjusting to the changing environment can irk you badly.

What worries you the most is the transfer of your bike registration that needs to be thoroughly examined during the entire relocation process. You need to acquaint yourself with the registration process of the new state and accordingly schedule your timelines for the same. This is indeed a cumbersome task, but we are here with our guide to make this process a swift one before it turns out to be a daunting task.

1. New state, fresh registration:
There are two scenarios that you need to understand. First, if you are relocating for less than a year, you don’t need to transfer the RC. But, if you’re planning to settle in the new state for more than a year, then you will have to go through a transfer process. Initially, you need to visit the RTO near your area and get a No Objection Certificate (NOC) as clearance for your bike. Then, after transferring to the new state, you will have to apply for fresh registration of RC of your motorcycle in the RTO of the new state.

2. What documents to carry?

Following is the list of documents required for the re-registration process.

• Original copy of Previous Registration Certificate.

• Three copies of Form 28 or the NOC issued by your local state’s RTO.

• NOC obtained from the local police station.

• NOC from Traffic police personnel.

• Form 20 as the application for the registration of the motor vehicle.

• Form 27 as the application for the assignment of a new registration mark to the motor vehicle.

• Attested copy of address proof.

• Attested copy of valid insurance.

• Attested copy of the Pollution Under Control Certificate (PUC).

• Copy of PAN Card or Form 60 and 61

3. Visit the RTO of the new state and complete the re-registration:
Visit the local RTO at your new location with all the above documents and fill your application for re-registration. Carefully provide all the essential information and verify all the documents thoroughly before submitting them to the officials. Once you fill the form and submit all your documents, you’re through your bike registration in the new state.

4. Fill the new road tax challan followed by vehicle inspection:
After completing the registration process at the new RTO, you will be asked to pay the required fees for that state’s new road tax challan issued by the RTO. Make the payment and collect your challan. The next step is the inspection of your bike. An RTO officer will conduct an assessment of your vehicle to check the condition of your bike and its parts. The primary purpose of the inspection is to ensure that your bike qualifies all the general safety requirements. All the collected data is stored for future reference along with the imprint of the chassis number.

5. The last step, and it’s done!
After completing verification, if your RC gets approved, you will be allotted a date to visit the RTO and collect your new RC.

To sum it up, make your relocation process manageable by following our guide. Follow all the steps mindfully and without any delays. Importantly, complete the entire registration process before your NOC expires. Considering all these factors, it is also essential to inform your bike insurance provider about your relocation. Provide all the details to the insurance company to verify your case and compute the insurance premium for your bike.

Changing the tyre is not challenging, nor does it need you to be “strong.” Just a few tips, and you are sorted to fix the issue all by yourself. In this blog, we have broken down the steps to learn how to change your tyre quickly!

Before you learn how to change the tyre, here’s something you should note:

Remember to keep a spare tyre in your car for emergencies. Moreover, pull over to a safe place and avoid parking on a slope or a dangerous road.

Furthermore, whenever you park, keep your parking lights on. This is crucial when it is dark so that the passing vehicles on the road will be aware of your car which reduces the chances of accident.

What are the tools you will need?

Before we begin with the steps, these are the tools you will need to change your vehicle’s tyre on your own.

● A spare tyre

● Carjack

● Lug wrench

● Wheel nut key

● Reflective jacket

● Car owner’s manual/handbook

Additional things you may need:

● Torch

● Gloves

● Warning triangle

● Wheel wedges

● Short plank of wood (optional)

Step-By-Step Guide to change your vehicle’s tyre on your own:

If you learn how to change your vehicle’s tyre once, you can easily do it whenever you need it next time.

Step 1: Pull over to a safe place and prepare for your tyre change. Pull the hand brakes and keep your vehicle in the first gear. Now, take out all the essential tools mentioned above. If you have an automatic car, put it in the “park” mode.

Note: If you have people sitting in your car, ask everyone to stand in a safe place. Avoid people sitting in your car until the tyre has been changed.

Step 2: Now, loosen all the nuts from the wheel by rotating them anti-clockwise. Note that you only need to loosen the nuts to a point where they are rotatable with your hand and NOT remove them altogether.

Step 3: If you are unaware of your car’s jack point, check out your car’s manual. Now, use your jack to uplift the vehicle. You can use the small wood of plank to keep the vehicle stable; this is crucial when the road is uneven. Raise the car 10-15 cms above the ground.

Step 4: Next step is to remove the loosened wheel nuts and remove the tyre using a cross-wrench.

Step 5: You can remove the dirt or rust in the vehicle hub and start placing your new tyre.

Step 6: Fit all the nuts into the tyre and tighten them with your hands.

Step 7: Use the jack to lower your car to the ground level again.

Step 8: Now, tighten the screws fully with the cross-wrench. Give a final check to the tightness and if needed, go to the nearby gas station to get the pressure level checked.

Take your punctured tyre for repair and later replace it with the spare one.

Since you know how to change the tyre of your vehicle, next time, you won't have to wait on a street for a mechanic or a passerby to come for your help. Besides learning the essential maintenance tips, it is also important to invest in the vehicle’s safety against heavy damages caused due to uninvited accidents. Buy motor insurance online and get useful coverage add-ons for your vehicle’s servicing and repair works.

Here are few essential life lessons that bike trips can teach us

If you get to have a conversation with a motorhead, you'll probably hear them say that the joy of riding a motorbike comes second to none. A feast for the senses, riding is exhilarating and comforting to motorcyclists. It fosters joy, excitement, thrill, and pleasure. When you ride, you feel liberated, and there is always something new to discover and learn when you're on the roads.

Life throws a lot of experiences at you while on a motorbike trip. You can learn a lot about yourself and others while you are steering your way through the places and covering distances. Bike trips are much more than fun. Such trips can be a great way to connect to your deeper self and unravel fresh experiences and valuable lessons that may change your perspective towards life.

Here are a few life lessons that you can learn when you set out for a bike trip.

1. You’re a tiny but important part of this world:
As a motorcyclist, you share the road with fellow riders. It’s important to respect each vehicle on the road. So, consider yourself important as your discipline makes a significant contribution on the road.

2. Life is too short:
We all have witnessed reckless drivers—cutting into lanes without proper signals, speeding in single lanes, and whatnot. Viewing any mishap or accident is a terrible experience during your long riding trip, but you realize how suddenly things can change. It makes you more careful and appreciative of everything as they are here and now.

3. Focus on your goal:
While driving a car, drivers often engage in distracting activities like adjusting the AC knob and tuning to a radio station. But when you're riding, it's just you, your bike, and the road. There are no distractions, and you just concentrate on the road in front. Likewise, we must focus on what is essential in life. Concentrate on the future and don’t allow minor inconveniences to detract you from your ambitions in life.

4. You learn to let go your ego:
As we said, we've all seen our fair share of terrible drivers. Sometimes you are triggered and obliged to accept the situation because you cannot confront every other vehicle on the road. You learn to swallow your ego and remain patient to handle things maturely. Staying calm and tackling problems with patience is not less than any winning formula to live happily.

5. Practice makes an individual perfect:
No one is born perfect, but we can ace any talent with positive intent and dedicated practice. Every ride you take fills you with new experiences and learnings that you can ponder and do better on your next ride. Consistency and a positive mindset are vital to master your fears and weaknesses.

When you are riding, relax your soul and enjoy the present moment. There's plenty to experience even in the most unlikely locations. Hop on the motorbike and discover life like never before. Like life, the roads are uncertain; but something certain is ensuring safety. This is yet another lesson that bike trips teach us; to be responsible for your safety and possessions. So, be responsible and purchase bike insurance for the additional protection of your bike. You may surf through multiple bike insurance online and buy the one that assures value for money.

Important things to know while disposing off a two-wheeler

There is no denying that many outdated vehicles are still plying on Indian roads, causing massive pollution. Therefore, the Government of India has unveiled the Nation's new Vehicle Scrapping Policy. The main object of this updated policy is to get rid of old and unfit automobiles that produce pollution. The government aims to clean up the air, and the efforts are commendable.

If you have an outdated two-wheeler at home and are considering scrapping it, here are some things you should know prior.

1. Mandatory fitness examination:
The procedure of obtaining a fitness certificate would become significantly strict under the updated scrappage Policy. If your two-wheeler is more than 20 years old, you will have to take a fitness test for your vehicle.
Automobiles registered for business use are subject to the fitness standards once they go beyond the 15 years mark. Computerized workshops will be set up around the Nation. This will result in pinpoint accuracy and faster tests.

2. Compulsory end of life vehicle certification:
If your bike fails the fitness test, you will be required to get an ‘End of Life Vehicle certificate’. This is because used automobiles contain dangerous compounds such as lead-acid batteries, lubricating oil, coolant, braking fluid, and catalytic converters. If not disposed of properly, these compounds can contaminate the environment and risk human health and wildlife.

Benefits of scrapping your old bike:
If you're purchasing a new vehicle under the scrappage program, you will receive a 4 to 6% refund off the total price. In addition, state governments can recommend a road-tax credit of up to 25% for personal automobiles and up to 15% for commercial automobiles. In some cases, automobile manufacturers also offer a 5% discount to those who present the 'Scrapping Certificate,' and registration expenses will be waived when purchasing a new vehicle.

Additional pointers to know:

• The policy will not apply to vintage bikes.

• Hybrid and electric bikes are exempted.

• A bike that runs on alternative fuels like CNG is exempted.

When will the policy come into action?
The updated policy will come to force starting with large commercial automobiles, requiring mandatory fitness testing beginning April 1st, 2023. In a phased approach, all other vehicles will be subject to the fitness test starting June 1st, 2024.

Final Say:

The policy is set to come into action in the year 2022; the most crucial stage for the proposed program to succeed is to construct the necessary infrastructure across the nation immediately. As things stand, India has seven computerized fitness test facilities and two official scrappage sites. To meet the market demand, more such facilities are provisioned in coming years.

This policy will encourage the bike sale, benefit the environment, and a step towards a greener future. While benefiting from all the incentives when you dispose of your 2 wheeler, add an extra benefit of insurance to the bundle of happiness. Buy a 2 wheeler insurance online, customize your plan according to your needs, and include the add-ons that can help you when you plan to buy a new two-wheeler after disposing of the old one.

Interesting facts to know about FASTag before installing it

The Indian government has recently stated that installing FASTag is mandatory for every vehicle. Various toll plazas in the country have already adopted it for toll collection. This initiative helps to make the cashless tax collection and reduce waiting time at the toll plazas.

FASTag comes in the form of a sticker or a tag that you need to stick on your car’s windscreen. You can recharge FASTag as per your requirement. When your car passes through a toll plaza, it automatically deducts a certain amount from your bank account or a prepaid wallet. FASTags are a step forward in making India digital. Following are some interesting facts and benefits of FASTag if you are still sceptical about installing it.

Interesting facts to know about FASTag.

1. Without FASTag, you pay double:
Although the authorities have made the use of FASTags compulsory for all vehicles, they are more than just mandatory. If a vehicle does not have it installed, they have to pay double what is paid through FASTag. This rule has been imposed to promote the use of the electronic chip and reduce waiting time and fuel consumption at the tolls.

2. RFID technology:
FASTag uses the RFID or Radio Frequency Identification technology for making payments directly when the vehicle is still in motion. The FASTag sticker is affixed on the vehicle’s windscreen and lets you make direct payments from your bank account or wallet.

3. FASTags are bank-neutral:
FASTags are available in most of the certified banks. They are also available at various toll plazas, digital wallets, and unified payment networks. Vehicle owners can simply visit any of these locations or visit these apps with the required documents to open their FASTag account and recharge it.

4. FASTags have validity:
FASTags have a validity of five years from the day of issuance. This means you will have to renew your FASTag account every 5 years. However, there is no expiry date on your recharge money, and you can use it as per your requirements. To check the validity of your FASTag, you can log in to the bank’s FASTag portal or mobile app.

5. Recharge as per your requirements:
There are two ways you can pay tolls using FASTag- by linking FASTag to your bank account where the money is directly deducted or by recharging your online wallet. If you choose to recharge, the minimum amount is Rs. 100. The recharge can only be done through online mode.

6. FASTags send you SMS alerts:
When you open your FASTag account and link your mobile number to it, you will be notified via SMS whenever there is a deduction from your account. You will also receive details regarding available balance, recharge confirmations, and alerts if you have a low balance.

Technological advancements have been shaping the future of India in various dimensions, and road transport has been receiving the optimum results. Severe commutation issues like long traffic jams, chaos at the toll plazas, and road accidents, have been brought under control with the wise use of technology.

FASTag has been a significant contributor to this movement, and it will show a massive positive impact in the coming years. Be a responsible driver and install FASTag in your vehicle to play your role in the initiative. Use these technology initiatives in your favour to have a comfortable and safe driving standard. And when safety is concerned, think of car insurance. Reduce dependencies on additional unwanted expenses and cover your car under the benefits of a comprehensive car insurance policy. Always look after your car insurance renewal to enjoy uninterrupted services for a long time.

Know about these seven driving habits that might be damaging your car

We all want our cars to stay forever sparkling and perfect, and we do everything in our capacity to keep them brand-new. Still, we cause some damage to the vehicles. It doesn't matter if you are an experienced driver or a learner; we all sometimes make mistakes as a result of particular bad habits.

These incorrect driving habits lead to unnecessary wear and tear to the vehicles and spending more money on repairs in the garage. To avoid it, we have shared 07 driving habits that you might need to look into immediately.

1. Not slowing down at potholes and speed breakers:
At least one-third of the damage to your cars occurs due to not slowing down over potholes and bumpers. It is not practically possible to avoid potholes everywhere you drive, so the least you can do is slow down.
Not slowing down on potholes can cause buckled wheels, lumps in the tyres, and even cracked alloys. The same goes for speed breakers; if you slow down on a speed breaker, you can avoid severe damage to the underside of your car and the exhaust system.

2. Continuing to drive your car at a low fuel level:
People fill up the tank when it reaches the 1/4 mark. At the same time, others push their cars to their limits. If you're the second type, you may be causing damage to your vehicle. When your fuel tank is nearly empty, the car will draw petrol from the very bottom. This may appear harmless, but the base is usually where all the toxins settle and concentrate, and if there is a significant build-up of impurities, it may clog your filters which might enter the engine.

3. Overloading your car:
We all have a habit of leaving something behind in the car, thinking it does not make a big difference. But all this extra load brings strain on your car’s brakes and suspension. Therefore, think twice before loading unnecessary luggage in the trailer next time. Plus, you will also form a habit of keeping your car clutter-free.

4. Smoking in the car:
Smoke from the cigarette makes your car stink. But the problem does not stop there. Over time, the particles from the smoke will mix with the car's material, leading to bad odour and discolouration of surfaces. This becomes tough to get rid of and will eventually deplete the value of your vehicle.

5. Revving your engine too soon in cold weather:
Revving your engine too soon will damage the engine's parts which are not yet lubricated with engine oil. Therefore, allow the engine to warm up properly before revving.

6. Applying brakes too late:
If you are habitual of harshly applying breaks at the last moment, it creates strain on the brake and makes the discs and pads wear out fast. Instead, maintain a steady speed and oversee the obstacles to avoid sudden and harsh braking.

7. Resting your hands on the gear stick:
Keeping your hand on the gear stick can be bad for the transmission because the constant pressure will cause it to wear out much faster.

Take a note of these driving habits that you might be doing unknowingly and keep your car safe from unnecessary damages. Another bad habit that may affect your car’s safety is neglecting your car insurance renewal. It is important to keep your car insurance renewal up-to-date and follow the above tips to keep your car looking and running great.

These useful hacks can help you remove rust from your two-wheeler

There is no question that motorcyclists are crazy about their bikes and want to keep them glowing all the time. Most of the time, even seasonal changes won’t derail their desire to have a shining bike. Seasonal changes like wet and humid weather harm the two-wheelers most, mainly the rusting. Rust is an awful deal to handle when the bike has seen mud, water, ice, and road salt.

But there are DIY hacks that help you combat rust and preserve the life of your two-wheeled companion. In today’s article, we’ll discuss some clever, useful hacks that will help you handle rust efficiently.

1. Lemon Juice to remove rust:

The acidic nature of lemon helps eliminate rust in its early stages before it affects the inside metal. Here’s how to use it:

• Collect ample lemon juice in a cup.

• Apply the juice thoroughly onto a ball of steel wool with the help of a spoon, or simply dip the steel wool in the cup.

• Rub the rusted areas gently with steel wool.

• Wipe away the extra lemon juice and rust particles using tissue paper, done!

*keep the juice away from your eyes and any open wounds as it may cause burns due to its acidic nature. Wear gloves and glasses for precaution.

2. Get rid of rust using potatoes and salt:

When it comes to organic cleaning, this small technique is fantastic to have on hand. Here’s how you can use this duo to get rid of that adamant rust;

• Cut a potato in half.

• Rub the sliced portion of the potato on salt, thoroughly coating it.

• Rub the salted potato over the rusted parts vigorously. Slice the salted end of the potato off and dip it in extra salt as needed.

• Thoroughly rinse afterwards.

The oxalic acid present in potatoes naturally helps dissolve rust, while the salt works as an abrasive.

3. Sandpaper to scrape off the rust:
Use sandpaper to get rid of rust from parts such as engine and transmission, as these parts require precise attention. A slight deviation can throw everything off if not done correctly.

4. Baking soda to remove rust:
Make a thick mixture of water and baking soda and rub it all over the rusted surface. Let the paste settle on the bike's surface for about an hour. Rub the surface with steel wool. Rinse thoroughly with water & dry it using a paper towel.

5. Scrubbing – the good old way:
Simply scrubbing using a wire brush is also effective in getting rid of rust from larger bike parts. This technique, however, is not suggested for chrome parts of your bike since you may wind up scratching them.

Although these organic rust removing techniques are excellent, most of them are acid-based, and they have the potential to damage your bike, particularly in areas with mixed materials such as steel + rubber or steel + plastic.

It's best to hand over your motorcycle to experts for rust removals if it is heavily covered in rust. They make sure you get the best results while assuring the perseverance of your bike. A good 2 wheeler insurance provides the security covers with these aspects as well, including rust remover. So if you have 2 wheeler insurance, you can claim the rust repairs under it. Be a responsible owner and make investments that can yield you considerable profits. After all, your two-wheeler is a prized possession, and maintaining it in good shape should be your priority.

Secret to manage stress for working moms to have an efficient work-life balance

Being a mother is not easy, and if you are a working mom, it becomes even more challenging and overwhelming. Waking up every morning, dropping your kid at daycare, commuting to your office, working there for at least eight hours, buying groceries on your way back to pick up the kids, and going home again only to work more can be physically, mentally and even emotionally exhausting.

Managing your responsibilities to your child, your career, your social life, and trying to find some time for yourself at the end of the day is challenging and will leave you with a tiring schedule. The feeling of being stuck in an endless routine of stress and bare minimum sleep can adversely affect your health.

And in times like these, when you need more energy than ever, there are stories of a few inspiring moms who have proved that nothing can stop you from achieving any milestones in your life if you master your command over situations.

So, what is the secret to managing stress and having an efficient work-life balance for working women? Not just the work-life balance, it has to be the blend of both. Let's tell you how you can achieve that.

1. Involve your kids:
Many parents have the habit of starting household work only after their kid’s bedtime, which only delays things. So, do not be hesitant to complete your routine work even when your kids are awake. You will be surprised by how much time you can save this way. Sure, you can’t do everything with your kids around, but do not get delayed to do basic tasks.

2. Your partner:
Do not forget that your partner is equally responsible for raising the child and fulfilling their duty as a co-parent. Raising a baby alone is very challenging, so it is only understood if you and your partner share the work, like:

• Both partners should take turns dropping and picking up their children from the daycare or school.

• If you have a small baby who wakes up in the middle of the night, alternately wake up with it so both of you can get some rest.

• Love is all about caring and understanding. Cherish the most beautiful moments of life and team up with your partner to swiftly manage all the odds.

3. Bring your child to work (only if it is permissible):
Familiarize them with what to do. Allow them to understand and see your workplace. Introduce your children to your coworker’s kid. This is all very helpful.

The most important thing that you should never forget is to take out some time for yourself. Remember to prioritize yourself and your desires, too, because, in the end, if you feel miserable, there is no way you can take care of everyone else.

Even if you are feeling completely worn out, don’t skip meals or jeopardize your sleep hours in a day. Never compromise your mental or physical health for anything. Another crucial aspect that can keep your stress away and ensure your overall well-being is getting health insurance coverage for you and your loved ones. Stand a chance of getting exciting deals and incentives by buying online health insurance from insurance firms to keep the financial worries related to medical treatment at bay.

Is it possible to install CNG kits in two-wheelers?

Following year-long debate and discussions, the Indian government finally allowed CNG kits for two-wheelers as well. Interestingly, CNG kits can efficiently be installed even in mopeds with about 81.75 cc to 136.25 cc capacity. However, there are some restrictions on the installation of CNG kits in two-wheelers. ICAT and Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) respectively approve only Euro-III-type automobiles to install these CNG kits.

CNG costs much cheaper than petrol or diesel and gives clean fuel to two-wheelers. This suggests that converting your two-wheeler into CNG will prove to be economically practical.

Advantages of installing CNG conversion kits:

• Natural gas is a cheaper alternative to petroleum as it costs almost one-third of petrol in some states of India. Natural gas is as cheap as 49.40 rupees per Gasoline Gallon Equivalent (GGE).

• CNG is less harmful to the environment than petrol. Compared to petrol and diesel, natural gas emits much less hazardous pollutants and hydrocarbons, thereby reducing the adverse effects of harmful emissions on the environment and human health.

• When compared to gasoline, CNG produces fewer toxic carbon deposits when burned. As a result, the engine is cleaner and more efficient. It removes the carbon deposits that taint the oil, reducing the need for oil changes.

• India has a well-developed pipeline network and abundant natural gas reserves. Switching to CNG fuel can help our nation to be less reliant on the import of oil.

• CNG can save your bike from getting green taxes. Vehicles that pass the automated fitness centres test are given a green tax at the time of registration. However, vehicles with CNG kits are exempted.

Disadvantages of installing CNG conversion kits:

• CNG tanks require more space. As a result, you may have to give up some room off your two-wheeler. In addition, a CNG cylinder can be a little heavier, which can be a difficulty in the handling of the two-wheeler.

• There are a limited number of CNG filling stations. Therefore, people who live in places with no easy access to CNG filling stations won't find CNG conversion the most efficient option.

• The cost of a CNG kit and the initial installation is high that refrains a decent population from installing these kits on their two-wheelers.

Experts believe air pollution will substantially decrease if more two-wheelers owners decide to switch to the CNG option. With global environmental issues bringing new challenges time and again, finding greener solutions and implementing them is a need of the hour.

Installing a CNG kit in your two-wheeler is not enough to improve the mileage and save additional expenses. Another thing to consider about CNG fitted two-wheelers is the expensive repair cost in case of an accident. Therefore, you require extra protection of a 2 wheeler insurance. Check out Magma HDI’s 2 wheeler insurance online and make your journeys stress-free and financially safe against adverse situations.

Environment-friendly and sustainable practices can be our first step towards a secure future. If you’re ready to compromise with the minor discomforts and consider pollution as a bigger threat, then switching to natural alternatives is the best choice that you can make!

Planning a long road journey at night? Follow these nine safety practices

The city, highways, and the sky above look much more beautiful at night. And, driving alongside the stars and the pleasant winds is a memorable experience. But apart from the nicer part, night time driving is also dangerous. One of the main reasons is the decreased visibility during the night due to the low contrast and the glare of the headlights of vehicles coming from the front.

The probability of a fatal car accident increases three times during the night. When we are exhausted and sleepy, our reaction time is slow, and we cannot think or make any decisions correctly. As a result, our overall spatial and environmental awareness decreases.

Due to the condition and unpredictability of Indian roads and traffic, driving at night is a challenge. Still, if you are planning to take a long road journey at night, follow these 09 safety practices.

1. Driving at a slower speed:
37% of night time road accidents are due to speeding compared to only 21% in the daytime. We advise you to drive at a speed lower than you typically do on the same road in daylight.

2. Drive with someone:
It is always better to drive with someone at night as the two of you can take turns driving every two hours. This way, both will receive some rest, and neither will be too exhausted while driving.

3. Take a nap:
Whenever you start feeling drowsy, pull over and take a nap. Even an hour’s rest will keep you going for the next three to four hours. Ensure that the place you pull over is safe; a restaurant’s parking lot or petrol pump is better than a random spot on the highway. Remember to lock doors and check your surroundings properly.

4. Maintain a safe distance:
It is an essential practice for driving. This becomes even more important during nights because our reaction time and judgment abilities are always lower than in the daytime.

5. Dim the lights:
Avoid using high beams on busy roads as you will only be blinding the other drivers. But in case the lights on the highways are dim, switch to using high beams.

6. Drunk driving:
Drunk driving is illegal; still, many drivers don’t consider it serious. So, even if you do not drink, you are likely to meet many other drunk drivers on your way. Therefore, drive with caution as drunk drivers are likely not to follow signals properly and abruptly stop or switch lanes. Even if it's not your fault, you may have to pay the price. Here, good car insurance can assist you with covering the financial losses.

7. Clean your car:
Focus more on the windscreens and windows as this will increase the visibility. Keep the wipers in proper working condition. Fix any cracks or scratches in the glass as they are likely to scatter light.

8. Be well rested:
If you know that you will be driving at night, it is advisable to rest appropriately the day before. Also, take care of your eyes, wear anti-reflecting glasses to avoid high beams.

9. Eat a light meal:
Having heavy meals will make you feel sleepy and bloated, therefore stick to fruits and vegetables, and stay away from fast food.

Driving at night is not the safest choice but by being alert, sober, and following the practices mentioned above, we can make night journeys safe and convenient for you and other commuters. Also, driving at night does not mean you remain in the dark when it comes to your car insurance. Purchasing ideal car insurance and adhering to traffic laws and driving ethics can assure vehicle safety under all circumstances.

Take a look at the seasonal maintenance checklist for your home

Buying a home is probably the most significant investment that someone makes in their life. But how often do we cherish and maintain it? The idea of climbing over roofs and crawling in small spaces to clean and check things does not excite anyone, but it certainly is necessary.

Few things need to be done more regularly than others, such as weekly cleaning your windows and wardrobes. Cleaning the drainage pipes, washrooms, and bathrooms can be done once or twice a month.

If thinking about home maintenance gives you a headache, do not worry. We have created the seasonal maintenance checklist for your home to make things easier for you.

But what are the main things you need to focus on?

• The exterior of your house

• Plumbing and drainage systems

• Electricals

• Security system

• Heating and cooling systems

1. Spring:

'Spring cleaning' is crucial as this is the humid transition period between winter's cold temperatures and upcoming summer heat.

• Check the overall condition of the roof.

• Pour water into floor drains; this will help prevent sewage odours and clean the gutters.

• Schedule your AC for service and replacement of its filter.

2. Summer:

Summer is all about spending time with your friends and family. So, this checklist suggests what you would require to do to prepare for a fun summer holiday.

• Remove dead grasses, lay flower beds, ensure everything looks fresh, and water your garden or house plants regularly.

• Check all the hoses for any wear and tear or leaking issues and fix them immediately if you find any.

• Deep clean the interiors and exteriors of your house, including the driveways and sideways.

• Pest Control during this season is crucial, mainly to prevent mites from damaging your furniture.

3. Monsoon:

Monsoons dominate India’s climate. Indeed, they bring the much-needed water for our crops, but they are also accompanied by strong winds, floods, and power cuts.

• Ensure no stagnant water accumulation as it is the breeding ground for mosquitoes and many other insects.

• Install an effective ventilator to prevent the musty odour from the damp walls and things.

• The constant dampness can cause bugs and fungus on your carpet and rugs so take measures to prevent that.

• A complete waterproofing of walls and ceiling is necessary.

4. Autumn:

The autumn season is the best time to run an overall maintenance check of your home as it is dry, and the temperature is often comfortable.

• Inspect your doors and windows for any cracks, and if there are, get them fixed.

• Check the paint, and if you are planning to paint your house, autumn is the best time.

• To remove the accumulated sediments, clean your water taps, showerheads and water heaters. This will prolong their life and their efficiency.

5. Winter:

Most of us love to be cosy and stay indoors during winters, so it makes sense to focus more on the indoors during this chilly time of the year. But, winter is a season of a few marquee festivals of India, so take this opportunity to keep your home shining. This will even keep you engaged during the cold season.

• A thorough inspection of plumbing is essential. The pipes will likely develop cracks and leaks when the water gets cold.

• Check the heating and air ventilation systems of all appliances.

If you follow this easily doable checklist, you will considerably save your time in maintaining your home in the long run. Not just the maintenance but also the security of your home is equally important. Include a point of home insurance in your checklist for additional protection from unexpected mishaps. Buy home insurance online to get the best deals on your plan. You may even stand a chance to get lower premiums if you have worked upon the security of your home by installing safety equipment and systems.

Include these protective measures to keep your business safe from cyber attacks

As per recent statistics, India has got into the top 5 of most cyber-attacked nations globally by recording more than 1.1 million cyber security assaults in the previous year alone. With the corporate industry being a large sector of revenue generation and economy booster in India, assuring digital security becomes a primary concern.

Businesses are a primary target of cybercriminals as they can gain access to clients’ sensitive data and severely compromise it. Data is the new oil, and the industry is valued in trillions. No business can afford the risk of data leaks, living in the internet-driven world where we are surrounded by many mischievous minds known as hackers.

The practical ways that businesses can implement to ensure safety from cyber threats are mentioned below.

1. Set up Firewalls:
It is the initial line or rather a wall of defence against cyber-attacks. It blocks unauthorized access from outside of the organization and blocks people from within the organization from visiting or opening malicious links.

2. Keep your systems up to date:
System updates are crucial as they consist of security patches designed to protect from the latest security threats. Keeping your system up to date will also help in boosting the operational performance and deriving optimum results.

3. Anti-virus software:
Antiviruses identify, block, and respond to harmful software on your system. Even if you use your system carefully to prevent it from malicious software or files, antivirus software is an essential component of a comprehensive security plan.
Antiviruses scan every file on your system and compare it to known viruses and other forms of malware. If it detects a harmful file, it will block the program from executing and avoid the multiplication of viruses to corrupt the system.

4. Virtual Private Network:
Businesses can improve their online security by setting up a Virtual Private Network. A VPN will shield your business' internet traffic from hackers by channelling all of your data via a strongly encrypted tunnel. The initial milestone to hack systems starts with targeting an IP address. As a VPN hides your IP address, Attackers won't be able to take control of your system.

5. Insurance to the rescue:
A public liability insurance policy protects businesses from the impacts of cyberattacks. This includes security for lost revenue resulting from a cyberattack, payments made to hackers to retrieve data, third-party coverage for losses, lawsuit expenses, and fines.

Other Security measures to practice:

• Reduce the collection of personal and sensitive information from clients as much as possible.

• Educate employees about cyber security through assessments.

• Encrypt important data using the best encryptions procedures available in the market.

• Back up your valuable data at regular intervals.

• Don't forget to shield your cloud storage.

While businesses must digitalize to meet the demands of their consumers, at the same time, they must show their preparation for the adverse technologies and the hackers behind them. Despite having all efforts, if a security breach occurs, a public liability insurance policy can offer the cushion that allows the business to survive the crisis.

So, wisely invest in effective antivirus software technology to ensure a safer environment in the working ecosystem.

Best tips to improve the mileage of a CNG car to cover more distances

Rising fuel prices have compelled car owners to find practical solutions to improve the mileage. There is a way out; substituting petrol and diesel-run cars with CNG options. With India putting more effort to reduce pollution and fossil fuel consumption, CNG is receiving more consideration as a more affordable and ecological fuel alternative.

But, do CNG cars have an excellent reputation now? It is because of the assumption that these cars do not require much maintenance, which is entirely wrong! Irrespective of the fuel type, all vehicles need proper care to give a better performance. Now the question arises; how exactly do we boost the mileage of our CNG cars?

Here are our best tips to improve the fuel efficiency of your car and cover more distances.

1. Servicing:
This might sound obvious, but many people still fail to do it. Servicing your car on time improves the mileage of the vehicle. If both the engine and the gas kit are appropriately maintained, the car performance goes up.
And just like the car, the fitted CNG kit also requires proper servicing. It does not matter whether your service station installed the CNG kit or the company had already fitted it; regular inspection and servicing are necessary.

2. Inspect for leakage:
When you get a CNG kit fitted locally, there are chances of damage to your vehicle. Also, when the CNG kit gets old or uses local parts, there can be a leakage in the pipe connecting to the cylinder. It may lead to the wastage of gas and a possible reduction in the car's mileage.
To get the best mileage from your car, you should regularly check your vehicle for any leakage issues. This will improve your car's performance and even reduce the chances of any mishaps.

3. Tyre pressure:
This alone can make a huge difference. Always keep your tyres inflated. If you have ever used a bicycle, you know how difficult it is to drag it with a flat tyre. The same concept applies to cars; cars will have to use more power to pull themselves if the tyres do not have sufficient pressure. Here is an extra tip; overinflate your car's tyres a bit, not to the point where they explode but a bit extra than the company specifications. Here is why; tyres will never be perfectly round in shape. They always squish a little at the bottom to create a flat contact patch with the ground, and more the air, less the area of the contact patch. This will make the car move quickly.

The mileage of a CNG car is approximately two times more than that of a petrol car, and by following the above tips, you can upgrade it to a better level. Don’t wait to refuel the gas until the indicator drops to the empty sign. Driving with less gas in the tank can affect the mileage.

Only improving the car's mileage is not enough to cover more miles. Another thing to consider about CNG cars is their maintenance and repair cost in case of an accident. Therefore, you require additional protection by purchasing insurance. Check out Magma HDI’s online car insurance and make your journeys stress-free and financially safe against adverse situations.

Best ways to clean the foggy headlights for improved visibility

Have you experienced dull headlights of your vehicle during your journey in the night? Your vehicle headlights get faded over time, and they appear unappealing and significantly decrease the light output. The protective layer on the headlight wears off due to the Ultraviolet radiation from the sun, dust particles in the air, and even the heat generated by the headlight bulb.

You might consider purchasing a new pair of headlights in such a situation. This, however, would be a costly affair. There are solutions by which you can clean those hazy headlights without buying a whole new set or even replacing them. Here are some ways you can fix the foggy headlights issue.

1. Cleaning the vehicle's headlights with a toothpaste:

Here's how you can do it.

• Initially, moisten the headlamp with some water to allow the toothpaste to distribute evenly on the surface.

• Apply a layer of regular toothpaste on the headlight and rub it using a toothbrush or your finger. Gently rub it for a few minutes.

• Keep the toothpaste for around 10 minutes.

• Then, it's time to clean the toothpaste.

• Use a paper towel or a microfiber cloth to wipe. And you’re done.

• To wrap things up, apply a coating of vehicle wax to ensure that the headlights remain clean for an extended period.

2. Using Vinegar and Baking soda:

• Dust off the headlights.

• Dilute some vinegar with water and spray it on the headlights.

• Wipe off the solution using a microfiber cloth or paper towel.

• Mix vinegar with baking soda in the proportion of 2:1 (2 for vinegar and 1 for baking soda)

• Begin rubbing this solution onto your headlights. Wipe in circular movements with a clean cloth until you get the desired results.

• Once finished, clean the headlight using a wet sponge and apply vehicle wax.

3. Using carbonated soft drink:

Surprisingly, this hack works!

• Wipe the headlight using a wet cloth.

• Spray the carbonated drink onto the headlights.

• Let it rest for around 10 minutes.

• Wipe it off with a sponge and later rinse it with water.

• You may not get the desired results in one attempt. This process is time-taking and reflects its results late, so repeat the process until satisfied.

• Apply vehicle wax.

These were some quick DIYs for your foggy headlights. And, if done correctly, you’ll observe optimum results by saving a considerable amount of money.

But, there are specific detergents and products available for this purpose in the market to give you more detailed results. If you're not satisfied with these home remedies, choose an off-the-shelf product to clean your headlamps. You must maintain your headlights in good and shining condition because they ensure clear vision during the darker hours of the day and even signal an approaching vehicle while overtaking.

Despite all these DIYs, if the headlights’ situation appears severe, then visit the automobile mechanic to replace them altogether. Your motor insurance company in India mostly covers the cost of servicing and replacements. So, don't bother making payments out of your pocket. Instead, contact your insurer and inform them regarding the repairs, and you will indeed receive help.

Best tips to prepare your cargo to be shipped safely

Correct packaging is the most crucial part to ensure your package arrives at its destination in the best condition. As of today, over 90% of global cargo shipping takes place via the waterways. Goods are damaged every day as a result of poor packaging and lack of shipping knowledge.

Cargo comes in various sizes and forms, and there is more careful packaging required for damage-free shipping. It might feel overwhelming, but we can help you choose the best packaging for your products. With this guide, you'll be able to secure your items as they go through the challenging shipping procedure.

1. Identify the nature of the cargo:
Foremost, separate the delicate and sturdy items from each other. Make sure you bubble wrap all the fragile items adequately before putting them into the package. If the shipment involves liquid items, keep them in a leak-proof and spill-proof container. Leave the sturdy items for the last; they require the least amount of cushioning among all.

2. Go for heavy-duty boxes:
Protect your cargo with as much coverage as possible by using robust, thick boxes that will not burst open during shipment. Thick boxes offer an additional degree of protection not present in standard shipment boxes. If you're not satisfied with one box, add another box to make it two times stronger by layering your package.

3. Choosing the proper cushioning:
A proper cushion will protect your cargo against shock, vibration, dents, or distortion. Cushioning comes in various forms such as paper filling, corrugated board pads, foam & bubble wrap, to name a few. Keep in mind these few pointers while selecting the cushioning material:

• Cargo sensitivity

• Transport-related stressors

• The cushioning material's stress range

*Pro-tip: After packing the box, give it a firm shake. If you hear articles are moving around inside the box, your package needs extra cushioning.

4. Tape the box well:
Cover your package with strong tapes that can hold all the folded ends of the box in place and prevent it from opening up during the shipping process.

5. Make your boxes water resistant:
Even if the shipping goes successful, unexpected wet conditions during loading and unloading at the docks could damage the cargo. Protect your boxes from such situations by shrink-wrapping them.

6. Label the boxes:
Proper labelling aids in the seamless operation of shipping. From sorting to timely delivery, label your package accurately. For example, if the box contains fragile items, mention it on the box with 'This side up' label to guide the carriers to keep the side of your box upwards.

7. Insure your cargo:
There is always the possibility that your package might get damaged during shipment. The carrier could be exempt from liability for cargo damage or loss under the law to worsen the situation. This is where marine insurance protects your package. If you insure the goods under marine insurance, it will protect them against all unavoidable losses during the shipping process.

As a shipper, you have various options for ensuring that your goods arrive at their destination in the best possible shape. Always select a reputable carrier, pack your cargo with the utmost care, offer detailed handling instructions and secure it with marine insurance so that your valuables get delivered unaltered.

Dry vans are preferred so much because they are completely enclosed on all sides, assuring safety to their contents.

If you are thinking of establishing a shipping business, dry vans are an excellent start for you. They are a popular choice in the shipping industry. Other than that, it is easier to buy online motor insurance for dry vans than loggers or tankers. Buying insurance not only protects you and your vehicle from damages but also covers legal liability for injuries caused to other drivers. Let's have a look at a few facts about dry van shipping.

1. They are versatile:
One of the best things about dry vans is their versatility. Dry vans are fully enclosed and come in various sizes. They are suitable for shipping anything to everything, such as non-perishable foods and beverages, household goods, clothing, textile items, plastic, and building products.

2. Favourites of freight transportation:
Dry vans are the most common, popular, and demanded freight transportation in the shipment industry. These vans look like boxes on wheels and have no temperature control. Therefore, goods that are temperature-insensitive can be quickly shipped using dry vans.

3. They offer protection to the goods:
Dry vans are entirely enclosed from all sides. This feature protects the goods from bad weather, such as rain, snow, or direct sunlight. In addition, the goods stay packed inside and safe from damage due to extreme climatic conditions or rough physical jerks. Dry vans are also theft-proof. This is why they are frequently used vehicles in the shipping business. Freight claims are also usually low in the case of dry vans.

4. They have hardwood flooring:
Dry vans today usually have a hardwood floor which is subject to damage. Wood is vulnerable to moisture that may come from freight or through open doors. This is a sensitive issue, but taking preventative measures and keeping up with the vehicle’s maintenance can help prevent damage to the floor.

5. High demand for dry vans:
These trailers are particularly widespread, but demand remains high, resulting in restrictions. In addition, due to the significant development of the retail sector, shippers have had much more products available, creating more demand for dry vans in recent years.

6. Dry vans are not suitable for perishable items:
If you want to ship food items or liquids that require refrigeration, you will essentially require this addition to your truck. Dry vans do not usually ship perishable or temperature-sensitive items, and you need to customize the carriers by installing refrigeration systems.

7. They have a maximum length limit:
You can find dry van trailers in various sizes. However, the maximum length allowed on the road is 53 feet. A dry van can carry up to 45,000 pounds of cargo at once.

Dry van shipping is worth all the hype it has created over the years as it is one of the world's most dependable, convenient, and cost-effective modes of transportation. If you choose dry van transportation, you can assure that your shipment will arrive at its destination safely and securely.

Child nutrition: Are you feeding your toddler in the right way?

Toddler years are the most crucial milestones in your kid's life that emphasize utmost transformation, growth, and development. The child begins to consume table food and adopt new tastes and textures in 1-3 years. And once your baby imbibes these habits, the importance of a healthy diet comes into play.

A good diet provides them with the nutrients they require for overall health, energy to play, move about, and participate in the growth and development of their body. Feeding your newborn with just breast milk is acceptable for the first six months or a year, but now it is time for your kid to start absorbing what they need from a range of meals.

Here are a few pieces of advice to get you started with feeding your child the right way.

What should a toddler eat?
Offering your child a range of meals from each food category with diverse tastes, textures, and colours is the best idea to come up with. A regular meal and snacking schedule might benefit your child in developing good eating habits. Try to follow a pattern for feeding them around the same time each day. Give your youngster 3 modest meals, plus a couple of snacks, but a healthy one, within every two or three hours.

What is the recommended amount of food for a toddler?
Every kid is unique, and the quantity of food they require varies according to their age, activity level, pace of growth, and appetite. Your child's appetite may fluctuate daily. The mood, health, time of day, and food supplied to your child can all influence their diet. It is all based on averages in nutrition, so don't worry if you don't meet the target every day. Instead, focus on providing a broad range of nutrients in your child's diet every time. Begin by serving tiny portions of food at meals and snacks, and then allow them to crave for more.

What to avoid feeding toddlers?
Examine and avoid food items they have an allergic reaction. Also, be careful with the food items that can choke them. Always chop the food items into tiny pieces and keep an eye on them as they eat. Avoid greasy, complex, and sticky foods especially.

Whole grapes, vast portions of meat, chicken, and hot dogs, as well as candies and cough drops, are all slippery meals. Nuts, seeds, popcorn, chips, raw carrots, and raisins are small, hard foods. Peanut butter and marshmallows are sticky foods. You need to acquaint yourself with the proper knowledge of food categories and how those categories will benefit your toddler.

Being constantly concerned for your child is quite natural. Every parent ensures to provide their kid with the best things available. With some excellent guidance, it can ease a bit. Model some good eating habits and let your child see you and follow them. However, due to undetected disorders, a kid may not consume the proper diet. If you're still distressed that your child isn't consuming a balanced diet, consult a doctor.

Don’t forget to cover your toddler with the benefits of health insurance. You no longer have to wait 18 whole years to get health insurance cover for your children. All it requires is to look up online health insurance that covers the entire family and children, and you’ll be flashed with multiple Children Health Insurance Program (CHIP). Choose the policy that suits the best for your child’s requirements.

Celebrating the glorious 75 years of Independence – Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav

The tales of our brave freedom fighters and their over-the-line selfless deeds are always an inspiration to the whole nation. One can never entirely express gratitude for their sacrifices for our nation’s independence from the British Raj. As we get farther from the year 1947, our gratefulness only grows more and more. This year on March 12th, in honour of our 75th Independence Day celebration, the Government of India started a national initiative to celebrate the glorious years of freedom – “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”.

This campaign is an attempt to cherish the relentless work of the citizens who contributed to India's evolutionary path to success and prosperity. This movement carries the ability to allow the vision of unleashing India 2.0, driven by the ethos of Atmanirbhar Bharat, a seed sown that is now a tree and bearing fruits. The campaign starts precisely 75 weeks before our 75th Independence Day that falls on 15 August 2023.

The main objective of this campaign is to hold a series of events to celebrate the success of Atmanirbhar Bharat in all sectors nationwide. India has marked its supremacy in Technology, Governance, Development, and Reformation through unmatched efforts empowering it to be a global superpower soon.

Several socio-cultural programs are conducted in conjunction with the Amrit Festival of Independence. These programs shall run on regional and state levels for educational and cultural aspects aiming to positively influence the lives of Indians and foster the development of India on a global scale. Various states and institutions have shown their enthusiastic participation in the campaign in multiple ways, including a 350 km run for defence staff members, an ITBP cycle rally, various exhibitions, and many more.

Another significant move towards the campaign was launching a mobile app this November. The Government of India unveiled the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav app to provide a single source of all information pertaining to India's 75th-anniversary festivities. The app is accessible for all smartphone users and contains information on the AKAM-sponsored happenings. According to a statement released by the ministry of culture, the main page allows users to overview the app's unique and diverse content. This app is a digital library of wonderful experiences showcasing various sections, from highlighting the inspiring stories of our unsung heroes to embracing the noteworthy achievements made by our country.

The effort taken by the government to acknowledge the courage of our warriors will surely warm our hearts. This campaign displays a strong message to the world about the spirit of Indians and embarks on the splendorous journey of India from battling for independence to celebrating it. With such a strong nationwide initiative, the least we can do is play our part in it. So, let’s drench our hearts with patriotism and come together as one big family to contributing to the Mahotsav in any possible way. The entire nation is looking forward to unbinding the future of the new India- India 2.0! Jai Hind!

Full-face vs. Modular. Which helmet provides the best safety and convenience?

A motorcycle helmet is one of the essential pieces of a rider’s protective equipment. Helmets reduce the risk of death by protecting the rider from the severity of head injuries. When purchasing a motorbike helmet, giving safety priority over looks is the best approach.

While there are a variety of helmets available, we'll talk about the two specific ones, i.e., Full face & Modular. In this article, we share the plus and minus of each to help you decide which one to go for.

1. Full Face Helmet: A full-face helmet entirely covers the head. It has two openings: one at eye level and one at the neck. It is shielded by a movable, clear visor. The chin bar is the band that wraps around the bottom of the visor. The part of the shell covers over the lower portion of the rider's head.

Pros:

● The chin bar integrates with the rest of the helmet's body. This makes the full-face helmet stronger than the modular type.

● Riding with a full-face helmet gives you the best shot at escaping severe injuries.

● Modern-day full-face helmets include a visor that can be lifted to clean it or get some ventilation.

● These helmets don't have visor lifting mechanisms, thus making them lighter.

Cons:

● They lack ventilation. In hot conditions, riders can find this a significant minus point as it can make them sweat extensively and cause itching.

● Some riders, especially claustrophobic ones, find the full-face helmet inconvenient.

● Full-face helmets have visor fogging problems during cold or humid conditions. As the lower part of the full-face helmet cannot move, it’s difficult to wipe the fog.

● Riders with glasses can have difficulty finding a full-face helmet that fits properly around the face.

2. Modular Helmet: A modular helmet is a kind of similar to a full-face helmet at first glance. But upon looking closer, you will spot a movable chin bar. This is useful when riders want the protection of a full-face helmet when riding but prefer the flexibility of opening the helmet up at any time without taking it off completely.

Pros:

● It protects like a full-face helmet and has the breathability of an open-face helmet.

● Riders get the option to open the front portion of the helmet to enhance ventilation, especially if they ride in hot conditions.

● Very helpful for those whose job requires communicating at frequent stops, like food delivery and courier people.

● Riders who use glasses find modular helmets more comfortable.

Cons:

● As the chin bar is not part of the body, it’s not very sturdy. A modular helmet will not provide the same facial protection as a full-face helmet in an accident.

● They are heavier and bigger due to a visor lifting mechanism.

● If your visor is lifted, strong winds while riding can take off your helmet if you haven’t buckled it tightly. This can cause catastrophic scenarios for you and others around you.

Now that you understand the pros & cons of each type, consider the safest two-wheeler helmet that protects you from possible impact. Choose the one that fits your needs and go for it. Just relying on helmets and safety gears for protection is not sufficient. Buying bike insurance further protects you from financial worries during a fall or collision. Buying bike insurance online is most convenient as the process involves minimal paperwork and gets you a lower premium.

How do self-driving cars work, and how will they impact in shaping the future?

Self-driving automobiles, previously thought to be a sci-fi fantasy, are now cruising the streets in some parts of the world, but there's a catch. They are not yet capable of reaching the benchmark of human drivers. Using the most sophisticated 3D imagery and Artificial Intelligence, car manufacturers want to provide users with a hands-free experience without jeopardizing personal safety. In today's post, we speak about the technology behind these cars and how they influence the future of mobility.

How exactly Self-driving automobiles work?
When the driver selects a destination into the car's navigation system, the software determines a route and drives the car towards it by tracing the route map. A revolving sensor mounted on the roof monitors a 60-meter radius surrounding the vehicle and generates a dynamic 3-D representation of the surroundings.

A sensor on the left rear tyre detects lateral movement to determine the vehicle's position to the 3-D map. Another couple of radar sensors in the front and rear bumpers calculate obstacle distances. The car's AI software is linked to all sensors and receives data from Google's Street View and integrated video cameras. Artificial Intelligence then mimics human perception and handles driving systems like steering and braking.

The vehicle's software constantly checks Google Maps & built-in GPS to be aware of landmarks, road signs, and lights. An override feature allows the drivers to take over the control of the vehicle whenever they want.

Now that you know how a self-driven car works. Let's look at its possible impact on our future.

1. Settlements:
People generally settle near their workplaces to avoid spending the time commuting daily. However, with self-driven cars, people will have extra time for other activities and personal leisure time as they won't have to drive, which means that they will no longer need to settle as close to the workplaces as before.

2. Fewer Accidents:
We know most accidents occur due to human errors. With no humans behind the wheels, there's no possibility of human error resulting in fewer accidents.

3. Mobility for disabled and elderly:
Differently abled people and the elderly will no longer have to depend on others to drive for them. They can just hop in and start navigating.

4. Fewer traffic jams:
Most traffic jams occur due to the congestion of the vehicles on the roads. Everyone wants to get ahead and, in the process, disrupts a free flow of traffic. Self-driving cars can cut down traffic by multiple folds. Sophisticated software and radars will have a sophisticated driving pattern.

5. Less human touch:
A self-driven car is all about software and sensors. They can never be 100% accurate and lack emotions and feelings. The inability to adapt quickly combined with a lack of emotions can have adverse impacts.

The possibilities for driverless cars are endless, and the imagination is at the top among car manufacturers. However, self-driving technology is not yet fully developed. It will take up a significant amount of time, and legal obligations before autonomous vehicles dominate the roads.

Till then, it's time to focus on what we have at hand. May it be a self-driven car or a non-autonomous car, safety always remains an important aspect for both the categories. And, when the safety of assets is concerned, insurance is the solution. So, as we talk about future technologies, why not consider purchasing online car insurance by making the best use of the internet and online resources for a hassle-free buying experience.

Simple tips to keep your home allergy-free

The changing season affects our health, especially when it is winter. The chilly days are known for causing flu, cold and inviting other viral infections and allergies. There is not much we can do to prevent outdoor allergies, but we can take steps to stay safe indoors and keep our home allergy-free!

To help you with it, we have made a list of important tips for each area of your house to keep them allergy-free. Follow these steps to create a healthy environment for you and your family.

Bathroom:

Your bathroom is the most prone to mold due to the high moisture present. And the key to preventing this fungus is proper ventilation and regular cleaning:

1. Install and use an exhaust fan while showering to let out as much moisture as possible.

2. Remember to wash your towels regularly.

3. To prevent mold growth, it is best to clean your showerheads, sinks, bathtubs, and other faucets with bleach every once in a while.

4. Stagnant water can be problematic even in the bathroom, so empty your bathtubs, buckets, and sinks of any standing water and clear the drain blockage.

5. Avoid wallpapers; instead, paint your walls as mold grows under the wallpapers.

6. Cleaning is a priority; make sure to scrub the toothbrush holders, soap containers, and shelves too.

Living room and general tips:

The living room is where your guest usually hangs out the most. Therefore, it is even more critical to create a safe, comfortable, and allergy-free space for them:

1. Manage indoor plants properly. Please keep them in a dry place, check for mold growth, ensure good airflow by placing them at a proper distance and spray the soil with fungicide.

2. Pay attention to the décor. Reduce the amount of dust collecting things like stuffed animals, heavy curtains.

3. Keep your pets in a confined region and bathe them once every week.

4. Keep wall decorations to a minimum.

5. Air conditioners are perfect dehumidifiers, and they also filter out pollen and discourage cockroaches.

Bedroom:

It is our favourite huddle zone. Therefore, it is necessary to take extra measures to keep this place allergy-free:

1. Periodically wash your pillowcases, bed sheets, linens, floor mats, and curtains.

2. Try to vacuum at least once a day and use a hose to reach every corner.

3. A bed is a heaven for dust mites; it is warm, relatively humid, and has a lot of food in the form of dead skin cells; therefore, clean your bed every day and consider buying dust mite-proof covers.

4. Wash your comforters and pillows regularly.

5. Do not forget to clean your windows. Vacuum your window sills and use cleaners to wash the glass.

6. Use air filters if there is no proper ventilation through windows.

Kitchen:

Most of the allergens and diseases are born in the kitchen. But, by maintaining a clean, ventilated, and dry space, we can control the growth of allergens:

1. Do not leave the dishes uncleaned overnight. It is best to wash them instantly after use. Also, dry them; never put wet dishes in the cabinet.

2. Please do not allow the food to go down the drain, as it will block the drain, leading to mold and stinking sinks.

3. Clean your refrigerator and try to consume leftover food as soon as possible.

4. Only cleaning the countertops after cooking is not enough. Regular mopping and dusting are essential to maintain proper cleanliness.

5. Take the trash out every day as garbage bins can spread way more germs than you think.

6. Make a note of the food allergies you or your family members have. And avoid buying such food.

Considering the above tips, you will manage your home’s health and keep the spaces free from allergens. Financially safeguarding your insured belongings is never a bad idea. So, think of investing in a house insurance plan to protect your home with a promise of trusted safety.

Six best safety tips useful for born again bike riders

The returning riders, also known as the born-again riders, are folks who previously rode motorcycles and want to get back into it. No matter how professional you were in the past, continuing something after a break has some adverse outcomes. Therefore, if you have given up riding for any reason and wish to reclaim it with your two-wheeled companion, there are a few risks you need to keep in mind.

This article will thoroughly guide you with the best tips to avoid mishaps for returning riders. We suggest investing in bike insurance for your two-wheeler before you restart your lost desire to ride a bike again. In case you already have one make sure it is up-to-date.

1. Begin slowly and safely:
Returning riders should take it easy at first and gradually gain confidence while riding. Start your first few trips with short distances and ideally in minimal traffic conditions. Do not push your limits and end the journey whenever necessary.

2. Know which bike to start with:
If you have not hit the road for a long time, consider going for a moderate bike at the beginning. Compared to the bikes you rode in your days, the current models can be overwhelming for you. For example, if you decide for high horsepower and remain unsuccessful in handling it, your motivation will hit the ground. It will leave you disappointed and undermine your confidence. Hence, go for a manageable bike at first, and once you've acquired confidence and improved your road sense, you may always upgrade.

3. Consider taking a refresher course:
Although this sounds a bit unnecessary, basic training at a motor learning school helps you regain control of the two-wheeler and understand the updated traffic. Even if you can't seem to find a physical course, the internet will never let you down. Numerous articles, podcasts, videos, vlogs, and blogs regarding this subject will guide you in the right direction.

4. Learn and adapt to what has changed:
Regardless of the gap in your riding, the technology and regulations would be different when you start over. The machines used in today's bikes are advanced, tyres have anti-skid grips, and the braking systems have improved. Try to acquire the knowledge of up-gradation as much as possible to avoid facing issues about adaptation to new things.

5. Don't skip the riding gears:
Never neglect your safety gear. If your gears from earlier do not fit you anymore, get new ones right away. There is no acceptable reason to skip wearing your riding gear for any occasion.

6. Learn how to unlearn:
The future is for those who can learn to unlearn numerous times throughout their lifetimes. This should be a motto for born-again riders. Forget all the myths and misleading facts from the old days and make space for new logic and learning. Technology progresses every day, and so does the experience based on it. Gain knowledge of it prior and incorporate it into your riding style as often as possible.

We hope to assist you in making your transition easier than possible. The above-compiled tips will surely do the job. Also, having bike insurance will boost your confidence and ensure a happy return to biking. So, if you’ve made up your mind, then you’re set to dominate the roads again!

What to do when the brakes fail suddenly while driving

How well are you prepared for a situation like a brake failure? Well, most people can't imagine the correct answer. Imagine you are driving comfortably, and your eyes are engaged on the road. Then, when you approach traffic or a speed breaker, you hit the brake pedal, but your car doesn't slow down. You repress harder this time, but you are still speeding. Are brake failures terrifying to even think about? It's best to prepare for such panic scenarios.

Brake failures usually are not recognized beforehand; they hit you when you are in motion. It can be a panicking situation leaving the driver clueless and inviting a potential threat to his life.

In today's post, we'll talk about the dos and don'ts to stop your car safely when the brakes fail.

What to do?

1. Don't lose your cool:
We understand it's easier said than done but try not to panic. This will only put you and the passengers in unnecessary danger at the time of an actual stressful situation.

2. Go easy on the throttle:
Immediately take your foot off the accelerator pedal. You don't want to speed up even by mistake as it can only worsen the situation and make the vehicle handling uncontrollable.

3. Pump the brakes:
Press the brake pedal multiple times to generate enough pressure in the hydraulic system of the brakes. This can miraculously work out, and you'll be able to halt your car even after brake failures.

4. Lower the gears:
If the pumping doesn't help, shift into a lower gear gradually. Doing this increases the mechanical resistance, referred to as engine braking.

5. Engage handbrakes:
Some cars can restrict you from shifting to extra-low gear until the car has slowed sufficiently. In such cases, handbraking comes in. When you engage the handbrakes, do so gradually. If you suddenly apply them, your car can go skidding to make the situation worse.

6. Turn on the AC to the maximum:
Turning the AC to the max will take a few kilowatts of power. Turning on all extras will cause resistance to the alternator that can help you slow down.

Other dos:

● Keep your vision on the road at all times.

● Turn on the hazard lights. This will notify other drivers that you're in an emergency.

● If you notice an uphill road, use it to your advantage. Taking your vehicle to it will help you curb the speed.

● Wear your seatbelt at all times.

● Follow the speed limits on all roads.

Now that you know what to do. Let’s discuss the don'ts real quick:

● Do not continue driving on cruise control.

● Do not cut the ignition or change the gear to neutral as you will lose the full control.

● Do not shift from higher gear to low gear drastically. The same goes for handbrake. Do not engage it at once. This can cause skidding.

● DO NOT shift to reverse gear. This will completely shatter the gearbox, and further will not allow you to downshift.

● Don't move sideways with a speeding vehicle. Yes, it increases friction, but you run the danger of spinning out.

● Do not run into a concrete wall or a block to crash stop; go for shrubs and bushes.

When such situations arise, you are in danger and the rest of the commuters around. Therefore, you must think rationally and make decisions. You and your car can sustain damage in such scenarios; having reliable car insurance at your disposal will help you recover from it. If you have one, check for your car insurance renewal before you hit the roads. Car insurance renewal is a ticket for extended protection of your prized possession.

Also, don't ever overlook the necessity of having your car serviced at regular intervals so that critical safety systems, such as braking, are well maintained.

Tattoos and piercings? Understanding the possible side effects and risks involved.

Tattoos and piercings are one of the most common forms of art of self-expression. While some people do it for religious purposes, others do it as a gesture or just as part of a trend. Especially with the new designs and technologies, more youngsters are getting fascinated towards them.

While you may be shortlisting new tattoo designs for your body, it is essential to understand that tattoos and piercings come with various health effects. You may flaunt your new tattoo, but the side effects that it develops can be challenging to overcome sometimes.

In this space, we will discuss the potential health risks of tattoos and piercings so that you can make your decision wisely. With that, let us dive into the details!

Risks of tattoos:

A tattoo artist will usually use a machine with a needle attached to make the tattoo. The needle injects the ink into the second layer of your skin, the dermis (below the epidermis). While tattoos are popular for expressing your feelings and yourself through art, there can be various complications. Some include:

1. Skin allergic reaction: Tattoo dyes like yellow, blue, green, and red can cause various skin reactions, including itching, rashes, more near the inked region. Even after years of getting the tattoo, a person may experience skin reactions that get troublesome with time.

2. Burn or swelling: Everybody reacts differently to tattoos. It is observed that many people experience a burning sensation and swelling around the tattoo area that can even last for longer durations if you don’t receive proper treatment.

3. Bloodborne diseases: If the needle is contaminated through infected blood, a person may get different bloodborne diseases, including hepatitis B, hepatitis C, tetanus, even AIDS. So, be careful regarding the sanitization of the needle and other equipment.

4. Inflamed tissues: A person can also experience nodules of inflamed tissue and may experience an overgrowth of scar around the tattooed area.

5. MRI test complications: Sometimes, a permanent tattoo on your body may interfere with the MRI test, disrupting the image's quality. In addition, burning or swelling can occur during MRI. However, this is rare but a possibility.

The long-term side effects of permanent tattoos are yet to be known. Although hundreds of ink are approved for cosmetic purposes, their side effects for injecting the skin are still not apparent. If you experience skin problems or allergic reactions after getting a tattoo, contact a doctor immediately.

Risks of piercings:

In certain parts of the world, piercings are a part of the culture. However, what most people do not understand is that piercings can cause various bacterial infections, development of an abscess. When it is left untreated, this puss-filled mass can develop a risk of blood poisoning and sepsis.

Since the nose and mouth area contain higher bacteria, the chances of infections are higher in these areas after a piercing. Additional risks include:

1. Keloid formation around the piercing area.

2. Swelling near the piercing site.

3. Bleeding due to damaged blood vessels.

4. Tongue piercing may cause damage to the teeth and gums in a few cases leading to difficulty in speech.

5. Swelling in the tongue after the piercing can cause blockage of the airway leading to difficulty in breathing.

Going with the tattoo and piercings trends can be a new experience that one does not want to miss out. However, it is essential to do extensive research on all the possible side effects and risks involved to ensure that these experiments do not affect your health negatively. Compromising health safety against excitement is not a wise thing to do. Therefore, guard yourself with health insurance before getting your favourite design inked on your body. Also, if needed, consult your family doctor, preferably a dermatologist, to get proper advice.

Nitrogen or Air – What suits your car the most?

Tyre management has become a critical factor in maintaining the overall condition of cars. In contrast, we cannot control the factors such as weather and road conditions that affect the wheels. But we do have control over what goes inside them. And mind it, the type of air you choose to put in your tyres can have a significant impact. So, if you are in a dilemma about which air to put in your tyres, you are not alone. The most common argument in the debate ranges from nitrogen being the most prominent option.

Not sure! This blog guides you in choosing a side. We have put both the options under the test of several key factors and see how each one fits in. By the end of this blog, you will be able to decide which one is the right choice for you.

1. In terms of cost:
At most fuel stations you get free air refills and check-ups. In the case of nitrogen, it’s not free and will cost you around 40-50 rupees for a four-wheeler. Even if you don't get a free refill of air, it usually costs about 10-15 rupees making it cheaper than nitrogen.

2. In terms of availability and convenience:
Normal air is readily available. The infrastructure and storage systems required for nitrogen are not present in every region, thus bringing limitations in its availability in those areas.

*Pro-tip: If you have nitrogen-filled tyres and get a puncture on the road where there are no nitrogen filling stations. Inflate the tyre with air. Don't worry; it is entirely safe.

3. In terms of tyre pressure:
When inflating a tyre with nitrogen, 95% of pure nitrogen goes into it. Nitrogen offers more consistent tyre pressure because nitrogen molecules hardly ever pass through the small holes in the tyre's rubber, being heavier and bigger in size. A tyre filled with conventional air has approximately 20% less pressure.

4. In terms of fuel economy:
Consistent tyre pressure results in improved fuel economy. As we already know, the winner in terms of tyre pressure. It's clear that nitrogen is the frontrunner in terms of fuel economy.

5. In terms of weather conditions:
Water vapour in conventional air causes the tyre pressure to vary when the weather conditions change. When the temperature outside is hot, the air within the tyres expands, resulting in over-inflation. On the other hand, they get underinflated when the temperature drops.

Not only that, but water vapour in your tyre causes corrosion in the metal rim of the tyre. As nitrogen contains no water vapour, tyre pressure variations and deterioration are non-existent.

From all the above information, it is clear that nitrogen does hold superiority over conventional air. Conventional air is not a bad option either. Yes, if your car stays idle for a more extended period, using nitrogen will save you trips to the air refill station every time you take your car out.

Maintaining proper tyre pressure is a must whether you use nitrogen or air. Just like that, maintaining your car insurance is a must if you want to drive legally on the Indian roads. So before you even take out your car for a tyre refill, make sure you buy new car insurance and if you already have one, keep it up to date.

Efficient ways to extend and maintain the battery life of your two-wheeler

People have a habit of covering more miles on two-wheelers than cars for convenience and cost saving. One thing that every biker wants to know is how to extend the two-wheeler battery life. Long battery life indicates that your two-wheeler will function for an extended period compared to other vehicles.

But the battery gets examined only at the time of each servicing or repair. Nonetheless, it needs more attention than these few times. You do not have to be an expert in mechanics to look after a battery, nor do you have to make endless trips to your nearby garage or service centre. Just a few regular checks and maintenance will improve the quality of the battery in terms of enhancing life.

Let’s have a look at the ways you can extend the battery life of your two-wheeler.

1. Charge the battery regularly:
Allowing your two-wheeler battery to discharge before charging to maximum capacity is not a good idea since it will decrease its life and negatively influence its performance. Hence, regular charging of the battery is a must. You can check charge levels using a multimeter. Allow the two-wheeler motor to be idle for about 15 minutes to get adequate charge levels.

2. Top up the fluids in the battery regularly:
The electrolyte in a battery gets utilized whenever you charge and discharge it. Hence, keep it refilled with distilled deionized water. If you find dropping electrolyte levels during your check, make sure to refill it up to avoid replacing the existing battery. If you don’t top up the electrolyte after a few cycles, your battery will begin to break down. A traditional two-wheeler battery would have many openings to inspect and fill electrolyte unless it is sealed.

3. When not in use, disconnect the battery:
Plugged-in batteries lose power, and hence not practising that might help you get the most out of your batteries. If you are not planning to use your bike for an incredibly long time, it is recommended that you disconnect the batteries to avoid power loss. And when you do, make sure to keep the batteries in a warm, dry location.

4. Look for any unsecured connections:
It’s crucial to scrutinize the batteries regularly to ensure there are no loose connections. Check for connectivity issues, scratches, and short-circuits of wires regularly to avoid long-term consequences. Internal wiring connects all sections of your two-wheeler to the battery, and weak connections might cause your two-wheeler to struggle to start. Some wiring errors might result in serious problems that affect other essential parts and the functioning of a two-wheeler.

5. Don’t put too much strain on the battery:
High-capacity lighting and LEDs that you connect to your two-wheeler put a lot of loads on the battery. As a result, it may cause the battery to drain and eventually lead to its termination. Ensure that the accessories you install don’t exceed the battery’s capacity.

On a conclusive note, for the smooth performance and uninterrupted functioning of your two-wheeler, keeping the batteries up-to-date is a crucial thing. Your two-wheeler derives its power from the battery, and any fault to it can bring the vehicle to a halt. Prepare for such uncertainties much in advance by investing in the zero depreciation feature of the regular 2 wheeler insurance. Taking good care and being careful is not just sufficient. Buying suitable 2 wheeler insurance can add an extra layer of protection.

Reasons why underage driving is posing a threat to the lives of other commuters

Learning to drive is a thrilling moment for teenagers. Transitioning from remote-control cars to handling the steering physically boosts the adrenaline for every youth. But this situation can be daunting for the parents. Statistics suggest that parents have valid reasons to be concerned because underage drivers are more likely to be involved in a car accident than any other age group.

Teenagers have better vision, faster reaction timing, and an acute sense of hearing than adults. Then why are accidents more common in this specific age group? In this article, we share the top reasons for accidents involving teen drivers;

1. They think differently, to begin with:
Teenagers are still maturing, and their brains are highly active. Studies have shown that the part of their brain that supervises planning and controlling impulses is still developing. Hence they’re more prone than adults to indulge in dangerous activities and struggle to evaluate the consequences of their actions while driving.

2. Lacking experience:
Teenage drivers are unprepared to make the judgments that drivers must make to be safe. They are still learning the road laws, traffic discipline, and the fundamental operations of a car. Furthermore, being impulsive, as mentioned above, combined with inexperience, lead to disastrous results.

3. Distractions are everywhere:
From smartphones, talkative co-passengers (mostly peers), or the latest track by their favourite artist blasting on the music system, the list goes on for the things that distract the young drivers while driving.
Teenage drivers may be cautious and stay focused to avoid distractions in their early stages of driving. However, the more comfortable they get behind the wheel, the more likely they are to participate in activities like texting on the go, scrolling through their social feed, or searching for a song.

4. Driving under the influence of intoxication:
As they’re underage, they are not legally allowed to drink. If you think from a teenager’s perspective, the safest place to chug some beer is in the car. Driving under the influence of a substance is a significant threat to other commuters as the mistake can adversely affect the lives of many.

5. Seatbelts? Not a need:
According to statistics, youngsters take wearing seatbelts casually. This casual approach leads to injuries and increases the chances of life-threatening situations in case of an accident.

If you're a parent and reading this article, imagining such situations can make you worry. Your best bet is to create a healthy environment with your children by laying out driving rules and ensuring they follow them. Your kids often take you as an example when they drive; make sure you set a good example for them by driving responsibly. Tell them about the possible consequences of their actions and the trouble they can get into. Also, make it clear that they cannot drive without holding a valid driving license.

Many things can be taught to your young one to get started, like wearing a seat belt, avoiding speeding, especially during the darker hours of the day. To give your car additional protection, make sure you invest in good private car insurance. This will help you adhere to the mandatory laws of our country and cover your loved one in case of an accident.

Best tips to protect your car from rodents

At some point in time, you've consciously or subconsciously imagined worst-case situations for your car, including accidents, terrible weather encounters, or theft. Ever wondered about infestation attacks on your car?

Underneath your engine, it's dark and warm - a healthy and ideal environment that suits these little creatures. The chance of your car getting infested by rodents drastically rises during these colder months as your car acts as a shield for them against predators and insulates them from the cold.

Rodents often cause significant damage to your vehicle by eating wires, defecating, creating nests, and accumulating food inside your engine. To save you from the trips to pest controls and spending your hard-earned money on repairing the damaged parts, we've put out some pointers that will help you in keeping the rodents off of your vehicle.

1. Keep your car moving:
Rodents like to make their base into cars that don't often move. Taking your car out once in a while can help. A moving vehicle won't give them the time to get comfortable, and they are less likely to make the car their camp.

2. Clean your car thoroughly:
Rodents will build their nests in places where they can readily collect food. To begin, make sure your car is free of any dropped food. Vacuum through your vehicle and collect each bit of fallen food, no matter whether it's the snack you ate while stuck in traffic or it's your dog's food. Get rid of the leftovers and trash thoroughly.
If, unfortunately, your car was already home to rodents, the scent of them remains. This creates a possibility that the same creature or someone is attracted to the smell and returns. Be sure to get rid of all the droppings, nesting material, and chewed-up debris.

3. Have an anti-rodent parking space:
Keeping food and water off your garage is equally essential. Rats like to relax and feed in locations that are dark, quiet, and appear to be safe. They dislike being in open spaces. You don't want to have any hiding spots that aren't required. You should keep grain sacks, food containers, and everything else of a similar kind away from your car and the parking spaces.

4. Keep the hood of your car open:
When your car stays parked for an extended amount of time, leave the bonnet open. Additionally, leave a light on above the bonnet during the night time. As we mentioned earlier, rodents love dark places. Keeping the engine area bright makes them less likely to settle in.

*Pro-tip: Focus some lights on your tyres and place traps beside them; this will help keep rodents at bay. Rodents generally enter the vehicle engine climbing through the tyres.

5. Insure your car against animal attacks:
Car insurance helps safeguard the car and the driver and protects against the damages caused by animals, including rodents. The stress on your pockets caused due to the repairs of chewed wires can be immense. Control it by getting comprehensive car insurance today to add value to your car!

Rodent attacks are a common problem in India that frustrates car owners. They bring in unexpected damages and financial losses and, most importantly, leave the car inoperative at the time of need. Follow these tips mentioned above to stop the activities of these little trouble makers early on. If you've already faced an issue with them, take care that you don't repeat the same mistakes.

Five best tips to make your home fireproof

The mornings are lazier, and the showers are a little hotter. Hoodies are out of the cupboard; winters are here! While we are desperately seeking to warm ourselves and our houses to a more comfortable temperature, it is important that we first ensure fire safety in our homes. While it's not necessary that fires only happen during the winters, even a BBQ in the warmer months can cause an outbreak. Therefore, you must be prepared for such incidents if they may arise.

Every year, people lose their lives as a consequence of house fire incidents. However, if you plan fire safety measures correctly and safeguard your house, you can prevent a deadly fire from breaking out at your home.

Check this fire safety instruction guide that will help you be on your marks if things go south.

1. Keep multi-use fire extinguishers at important places of your house:
Place fire extinguishers near the areas of your home which have a high probability of catching fire, such as the kitchen, utility area, prayer room, and laundry area. Purchase only the ISI-certified product. Make sure you're familiar with the operating of the extinguisher.

2. Install and maintain smoke detectors at your residence:
Install smoke alarms/detectors in each room. Preferably, use a hard-connected system so that the signal is audible throughout all the rooms. Consider a professionally installed fire alarm system for an even higher level of security. If you use battery-powered smoke alarms, make sure to check the batteries regularly and replace them every six months.

3. Install a fire sprinkler system all over the property:
Installing a fire sprinkler system provides additional fire safety benefits. For big houses, sprinkler systems are often effective when they are operating on automated suppression. Fire sprinklers can safeguard and save all of the property's inhabitants as well as the property itself. They have in built sensors that detect smoke and fire that trigger the water sprinkling process to control fire outbreaks.

4. DO NOT overload switches:
When you overload your power outlets, you significantly increase the chance of an electrical fire in your house. For example, connecting an electric heater to a multi-board or multiplug is dangerous. These heaters consume a lot of energy and, in many situations, can overload the electric circuit, creating an undetected meltdown inside the wire. When left unattended, this can rapidly turn into an ablaze.

5. Look after your practices:
Cooking? Don't leave the gas unattended at any time. People who smoke in the house should be cautious; make sure the burning cherry on your cigarette does not touch anything. Prayer rooms should have proper ventilation, and the ‘diyas’ and incense sticks should have a dedicated place away from anything combustible.

Pro-tip: Have an escape plan ready for the residence. Gather all the family members and share the fire exit plan and an escape route. Examine all available exits and evacuation routes in your home and your apartment. Practice that drill every once in a while to get used to it.

With the winters just around the corner, this is the time when you use room heaters most to keep your home warm. But you might know that room heating is the most common cause of fires. Therefore, it is essential to protect your property from any blaze with all precautions in place. Get in touch with a reliable fire insurance company that will be your guiding hand in unfortunate times. A Fire insurance company will compensate for your loss against unforeseen events like lightning strikes, explosions, or unintentional fire due to short-circuits.

Complete guide for learning horse riding as an adventure

Horseback riding is one of the most ancient adventure activities introduced in ancient times. And, it quickly became an integral part of every army, and until today it is a royal legacy. Adventure enthusiasts practice horse riding as a sport.

But horse riding is not as easy as it appears to be. Trusting a 1200 pounds animal to keep you safe and to cooperate with you is a daunting task. One wrong move can leave you paralyzed for the rest of your life; some mistakes can be life-threatening. But, if you are willing to take the risk to be a part of the equestrian community, you will undoubtedly have a great time learning it!

Following your passion or pursuing horseback riding as a hobby is a great start indeed! And to help you with it, we have created an essential checklist to learn horse riding as an adventure.

1. The attire:
Appropriate dressing plays a significant role in ensuring personal safety, especially when indulging in a gruelling sport like horseback riding. You require ankle-length, close-toed leather boots with a small heel to keep your feet from slipping out of the stirrups. Wear long pants to keep your legs safe from colliding against the saddle. Protecting your head is the most crucial safety aspect, so a helmet should be an essential accessory of your fit. Remember, even the horses require proper equipment. A properly fitted saddle, well-tightened cinch, a comfortable bit and bridle, and suitable hoof protection can make the sport for your horse safe and enjoyable.

2. Learn to use the reins:
Just as important it is to handle the steering of a car when learning to drive, similarly before hopping on the horse, you should understand the appropriate use of the reins. Do not hold the reins too harshly as it can hurt the horse, be gentle with it. Keep your arms at the correct angle from your elbow. The moment you master the handling of reins, you get the command over your horse.

3. Spend time with the horses:
One of the ways to be more comfortable with the horses is to spend more time with them. Try finding a part-time job at the stable or maybe just volunteer! This is how you will learn things you would not be able to learn otherwise, and horse riding will be easier for you.
Also, never forget to greet your horse first before training. It is essential to show compassion and affection to your fellow animal. Horses value the love and care their masters bestow upon them, which massively impacts the riding experience.

4. Correct your posture:
While on the back of the horse, relax and sit up straight. This will help you maintain balance and get a firmer and better hold on the horse. Relax your shoulders, and place both of your feet in the stirrup.

5. Stay hydrated:
This may seem like a small detail, but on warm and sunny days, horse riding can make you sweat profusely, therefore carry a water bottle along with you and stay hydrated.

We hope these valuable tips will guide you to kick-start your passion for learning horse riding. However, as the Equestrian community says, “Horses don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” Just mastering the skills is not sufficient; you need to build a mutual understanding with your horse. Trust and respect are two vital factors that should define your bond with your saddled friend.

The more time you spend training, the better your skills will get, but the chances of you getting injured increase simultaneously. Therefore, before saddling up and preparing for this extreme sport, have a personal accident insurance policy and make your experience safe and unforgettable. Don’t let the fear of falling hinder your desire to learn!

Eleven ways a traveler can reduce his carbon footprint

Climate change is not a new threat to our planet, and we all are well aware of it. Large amounts of greenhouse gas emissions endanger wildlife and nature, and the bare minimum we can do is watch our actions, refine them, and reduce damage as much as possible. As per the studies, airlines alone are one of the biggest reasons of carbon emissions for the environment.

At the time of severe climate challenges, both the tourism industry and travellers are adopting green ways to minimise their carbon footprints. Most conscious travellers recommend embracing a travel culture that is environment-friendly and sustainable. As a traveller, you can always opt for a minimal carbon footprint and a sustainable form of travel.

We recommend following travel practices that help contribute towards zero carbon footprints:

1. Flying to nearby destinations should be shunned; instead, use public transportation like buses or trains. Take flight only if the distance is far, and make sure to book flights with no layovers.

2. One-time use of plastic products such as water bottles will increase the weight and the waste. Instead, carry mostly reusable items and do not pack heavy.

3. Choose efficient modes of transport to travel to your destination. Simply do walking, ride a bike, or take local public transportation when sightseeing.

4. Avoid looking for your traditional food abroad and try the local cuisine. The imported food items emit a tremendous amount of carbon footprint.

5. Purchase meaningful, valuable, and authentic local souvenirs only. Avoid mass-produced clothes, plastic trinkets and cheap articles made on an assembly line in third countries.

6. Rather than packing or purchasing new equipment for your adventures, look for options to rent it on location. Again, sharing is better than possessing for the environment.

7. Stay in an environment-friendly local hotel and contribute to the local economy. Avoid unnecessary use of modern amenities if you have greener options.

8. Plan the tour in a manner that does not include exploitation of the wildlife and the life of the residents - question yourself about the ethics and effectiveness of each trip you take.

9. Keep an eye out for the local resources. The holiday attitude should not be an excuse to overlook how your presence negatively affects the people and environment in the area.

10. Evidence shows that travel makes individuals more sympathetic and creative and stimulates them to engage more actively in intercultural contexts. Be considerate to your purchasing if you want to reduce your carbon footprint.

11. Support projects and organisations that promote sustainable tourism. You may also donate to non-profits that advocate for climate action and help the tourist sector transition to a carbon-free future.

Travel has the power to change a person’s perspective of everything literally, and one should never discontinue it. However, during your journey, you should ensure that it preserves destinations and that our future generations have the opportunity to travel too.

With the planet's future at stake, conscious travel is the key to contributing to a better local environment and communities. But Remember to be sensible enough to protect your travel as well from any mishap while you undertake these trip. Always ensure general insurance that covers your travel you are planning next. You can easily get general insurance online quotes and purchase one for yourself before starting that meaningful trip.

There is no planet B, and with little effort from each individual, we can reverse the clock on this. So, let us travel green!

Five trending technologies that will avoid distractions while driving

According to a report centered around accidents in India, The Nation has lost 1.3 million lives in road collisions in the previous decade alone, with another 5.3 million badly injured. With one collision per minute and one fatality every four minutes, India has the most significant number of road accident deaths. Despite having just 1% share of the world's vehicles, India estimates more than 10% of worldwide road accident deaths. These figures are alarming and must be addressed with urgency.

While most accidents occur due to distractions while driving, the automobile industry is developing innovative technology to keep drivers on alert mode to reduce accidents that plague the country.

Today, we'll take you through the exciting technology proving to be the difference between life and death.

1. Driver Fatigue Detection system:
Fatigue while driving is frequently the cause of some catastrophic accidents. However, it is possible to notice the early indicators of drowsiness before a fatal scenario occurs. The driver fatigue detection system can monitor steering motions and alert drivers when it is time to take a break.
The technology works by tracking the driver's steering behaviour as soon as they start the trip using an algorithm. It then detects variations throughout long journeys, as well as the driver's level of tiredness. Typical symptoms of fading focus include periods when the driver is hardly steering, followed by modest yet rapid and sudden steering adjustments to maintain the automobile on course. If that level surpasses a specific threshold, an indicator appears on the digital panel to alert drivers that they need a break.

2. Voice controls and Hands-free connectivity:
Nowadays, automobile manufacturers provide Bluetooth connectivity that allows you to communicate and control smartphones and media devices without operating them physically. This way, the driver doesn't have to take their hands and eyes off the wheels. Various studies also prove that there is less possibility of mishaps when the driver's car has a hands-free electronic system installed in their vehicle.

3. Automatic Emergency Braking system:
The Autonomous Emergency Braking system (AEB) automatically slows or even brakes a vehicle when it senses an approaching collision with an object. The most basic AEB systems can identify automobiles, but more complex systems can detect pedestrians, making them extremely helpful in urban settings.

4. Local mobile phone jammers:
The system uses radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology to determine whether a vehicle is moving and the driver is trying to use the cell phone. The technology then activates a local mobile jammer, which disables just the driver's device while enabling passengers to continue calling and texting as usual.

5. Lane departure warning system:
A deadly situation might emerge if a car strays out of its lane. Lane Departure Warning, abbreviated as LDW, identifies the road up to 40m ahead of the vehicle using specially designed cameras. If the driver is on the verge of straying out of the lane by mistake, the system will alert them via audio or haptic vibrations.

These technologies are indeed helping to make the roads safe for all of us. The testing of more prototypes is in progress to be implemented soon. While it may be you or your driver taking control of the steering, mishaps still can happen even with all these technologies in place to assist you. As the saying goes, "Hope for the best and prepare for the worst", show your preparation by covering your car under ideal car insurance. It's not only a wise investment in car insurance but also mandatory by National vehicle law.

Nine habits that are killing our metabolism

Metabolism constitutes the chemical activities that repeatedly occur inside your body that keep your organs regularly operating, such as breathing, cell repair, and food digestion. Your metabolic rate regulates the number of calories you burn while also maintaining bodily balance by monitoring blood sugar, cholesterol, and blood pressure levels.

However, the metabolic rate tends to slow down as you age. And some unhealthy habits accelerate the process. This invites health problems and makes our body vulnerable to infections. Maintaining a proper metabolism keeps the body in good shape and powers the organs to perform to their best capacities. But, we practice a few habits that negatively impact our metabolism at an alarming rate. Let’s look below at the mentioned factors that could be killing your metabolism.

1. Eliminating breakfast:
Needless to say, breakfast is the kick-starter of the day. It is the most important meal that no one should skip. Since our metabolism slows down during sleeping hours, eating in the morning is a way to provide ample calories for the entire day.

2. Excessive sitting:
Sitting for hours causes your body to go into energy-saving mode. This impedes your metabolism and impairs the body's capacity to control blood sugar, blood pressure and break down body fat.

3. Insufficient consumption of protein:
Protein fuels your muscles, and muscles are significant for metabolism. Also, protein improves satiety and is essential for maintaining a healthy weight.

4. Ignoring the importance of strength training:
The more active muscular tissue you have, the greater is your metabolic rate. Therefore, strength training is a vital component of metabolism since it directly connects to muscle mass.

5. Inadequate hydration:
A recent study proves that consuming half a litre of water improves metabolic rate by 30% that lasts for about an hour. So, by staying hydrated throughout the day, you'll have the benefit of a faster metabolism.

6. Poor sleep schedule:
You'll have a slower metabolism and hormone abnormalities if you don't get enough sleep for several nights in a row or have difficulty sleeping due to any medical condition. An average sleep time should be at least 07 hours a day.

7. Eating fast food regularly:
Junk food already adds a lot of calories, but it also slows down your metabolism as high-fat food takes longer to digest.

8. Feeling tense frequently:
Cortisol, a hormone produced by the body whenever stress intensifies. Cortisol significantly increases hunger, comfort food cravings, reduced desire to exercise, and poor sleep quality, all of which negatively influence metabolism. So, keep stress away for both mental and physical well-being.

9. Having a warm room to sleep in:
Our body responds indifferently to the surrounding temperature. Sleeping in a chilly environment can boost levels of brown fat, which burns calories to produce heat. The optimal nightly temperature is 19ºC.

We are sure you practice more than five of these bad habits unknowingly that affect your metabolic rate, making you unhealthy and inviting disorders. One can never elucidate the importance of taking care of the body at every age. Apart from these habits, we usually have another habit of not prioritizing and securing our finances against undesired health conditions. We simply recommend you stay in your best possible shape and back yourself up with insurance. If you haven’t protected yourself with a health insurance cover, rather than opting for conventional methods to purchase health insurance, buy online health insurance and get yourself a chance to bag great deals on your purchase.

Seven useful exercises that can improve your bone density to make you feel strong

Bone density lessens when they lose calcium faster than the body can restore. This condition is known as osteoporosis in the medical field. Both women and men can develop osteoporosis, although females are more vulnerable since their bones are comparatively smaller. Exercise 4: Ball sit

• Repeat the same exercise with another foot.

Exercise 6: Bicep curls

• Stand straight with a barbell / dumbbell in each hand, resting your elbows at your sides. Extend your forearms in front of you. Bend your knees slightly for an ideal posture.

• Bend your elbows and bring the barbell/dumbbells up to your shoulders. Hold for a second at the peak and try to squeeze the bicep muscle.

• Come back to the starting position.

• Do 10-12 repetitions and perform a couple of sets.

Exercise 7: Shoulder lifts

• Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, chest high, shoulders squeezed, head straight, and abs tight. Hold the dumbbells/weights on either side.

• Raise the dumbbells just above shoulder level using only your shoulders and arms.

• Return to the initial position.

• Do 10-12 repetitions for the first set. Go for another set, only if possible.

When you perform these workouts, make sure to supplement the growth with proper nutrition. Consume food that has a good concentration of calcium content. Try to naturally increase calcium intake rather than depending on medicines or supplements.

Osteoporosis may make your knees weak, but health insurance will help you lift yourself up when the going gets tough. Don't let your finances go weak. Get health insurance that will cover your journey towards being strong again.
